    Before 17.
Rated #1 C of the 83 coming out, apparently.

I always thought he was a back of the 1st round guy. Versatile OL. I was big on him early in the draft process. I like guys who can play possibly more than one position on the OL. He really flourished when moved to Center though.

Offensive guard Tre’ Jackson received a lot of one-on-one attention from several teams, among them the San Diego Chargers. Jackson has continued to improve his stock with strong showings at the Senior Bowl, NFL Combine, and now today’s Pro Day.

From a blog on FSU's pro day...

          I want Tre Jackson.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I think he's a perfect fit us in the first. Probably not a popular thought on here, but i think we could slide him to RT and he could be the #2 LT if Dunlap gets another concussion. He's obviously versatile and has played well wherever he's been asked to play. He's better than the swing tackle and would improve our overall depth at several positions.

Dunlap's injury history is a huge concern (to me at least).

That's where I have him. The best RG in the draft. Big and strong, he may give us the heaviest OL in football.

Xavier Williams from Northern Iowa was a BEAST at the FCS level. Probably the best defensive lineman in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. (Best FB Conference in the FCS... both FCS Championship finalists were from the Missouri Valley)

Any interest in Shaq Thompson? I watched him in several games last season and he seems to have a knack for always being around the ball. I know he's a tweener, but the guy can play. He's about the same size as Donnie Edwards was. He even played some running back at UW. That said, any idea in which round you think he might get drafted?

no interest from me. As you said, he is a tweener...jack of all trades and master of none as well. He will go,late first/early second, but i see much better fits for us.

I was watching "Path to the Draft" last night and saw where Bucky Brooks had Marcus Mariota dropping and the Chargers picking him at #17. I find this scenario highly unlikely because I don't think he will drop like that, and secondly I can't see Chip Kelly sitting on his hands and not trading up if Mariota gets that close to the Eagles' slot. For the sake of discussion though, if when the Bolts work him out they think he could be the "guy" down the road would he be a good choice at #17? Playing behind Rivers for a couple of years would probably be an ideal situation for him.

It would be a huge shift in how I see the team in terms of packing it in, vs looking to contend...
