(and they played well last year in the playoffs too)

That has little to nothing to do with how good he will be as a Head Coach in the NFL.

I don't care if he gets the job or not.
I hear you, Coach. Like saying Fouts was not a great QB right after the 5 INT houston oiler playoff game. But still, not a good look for Smith right now. Seeing how he reacts might be telling and useful in the interview I guess. If he blames everyone else that's a bad sign

Looks like he's going to Atlanta.

For me, him and Brady were just McCoy and Lynn and the cycle of the not as experienced OC to the Chargers. And I get Smith might be fantastic in Atlanta and Brady, if not this year, in future years might be a fantastic HC. But for the Chargers - that model just has not worked.

Just has the look and feel of a Falcons coach. He will be fired in 3-4 years

Not my first choice, but in my top 5.

This is like waiting for the judges to announce the winners of a contest. You're hoping to get first but as they announce 3rd place and 2nd place you start to get a little worried when they don't call your name.

Glad he is off the table..... he is another HC who needs to have a 150-200 yard running game to coach well. Titans looked clueless on offense when their running game was shut down.

                    Experience - limited
                    Running game helped Tannehill

Not to look at just one game - but he called a terrible game against the RAvens

he was 7 out of 8 on my list as the Chargers have hired "Arthur Smith" - his name was Visor Lynn - the last two hires. Recent success, very good teams, limited experience as an OC.

He's going to be a success. I have found the Falcons boring since Steve Bartkowski left town, but Arthur Smith has Arthur Blank behind him, and I feel you're under-rating Arthur Smith's intelligence and what's more, his philosophy of a ball-control offense is sound.

Makes me wonder what Atlanta will do with Raheem Morris now. Gruden may have jumped the gun hiring Gus as Raheem and Gruden have a big mutual respect for each other from being at Tampa Bay together. Good thing for us, i prefer he has Gus as his DC to Morris.
