Well, Myers is injured so there's that, but in general I agree. Black tends to over manage certain aspects IMO. The lineup is one area, and little nits like having Shields pinch hit is another. I'd rather have an old school ass kicker like Dick Williams or Bruce Bochy than a bookworm like Black. He reminds me of Steve Boros.

Bruce Bochy confused me too. He liked to mess with the lineup too and give guys days off who I didn't think needed days off. He also liked to leave in pitchers who were sucking and take out pitchers who were doing well. But that just shows how ignorant I am. Bochy's strategies obviously worked and still work. Clearly he's the best manager in the league, and clearly I'm not.

Just saying my criticisms of Black aren't legit. I really don't know what I'm talking about. He might be a genus.

I think Bochy relied on his gut instinct much of the time. I like that in a manager. My impression of Black is he reacts to situations by reading some sort of flowchart. I really don't like that.

The Cashner for Rizzo trade is looking worse and worse...Rizzo has turned into a legit stud with a good eye at the plate..His OBP and OPS are off the charts.

Saw that one coming a mile away. Love Cashner but wouldn't have made that trade. I just don't see how you give up on Rizzo (obviously the plan was a good one bc we had acquired Alonso...)
