Rich Gannon, Jim Plunkett, Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer...journeyman QBs who had great success later in their careers after fair to midland stints with their 1st, 2nd or 3rd teams. It happens. And Tyrod is a former Pro Bowl QB who took a team to the playoffs. Just sayin'.

With Herbert getting no offseason reps, he’ll likely be our QB until he gets hurt as he has been hurt (albeit not major) every single year he was the starter.
I am curious who you might have in mind.
      A particular WR, no doubt.
I was pissed it wasn't Simmons,
to put our D over the top.

Their is outliers among every situation similar to this. NFL is littered with the corpses of those that failed more so than succeeded being journeyman QB's.

I have never purchased a player jersey, but if Tyrod takes us to Lombardiland I will buy 10 and pass them out in downtown L.A. :More Q Please:

Fair enough but he has 1 season to show it. Herbert is taking over after this season. I dont think Tyrod stinks, he is just middle of the road, ....hec even a poor mans Alex Smith imo but he dont turn the ball over much so if we have a good ground game, he can be fine. If we dont, we wont be a .500 team.

                  Rich Gannon.

                  4x Pro Bowl (1999-2002)
                  2x First-team All-Pro (2000,2002)
                  NFL Most Valuable Player (2002)

Only prevented from a Super Bowl ring by Barrett Robbins.

                  Tyrod will be fine.

Alex Smith and the Chefs used to win vs. the Bolts most of the time...and that's when we had Rivers...just sayin'...

I hope he will but not holding my breath. The running game will determine how well he will play, he can't do it without one.
He has one more season with us. Make it count.

Rivers needed more a running game than Taylor.

He no he didn't because Taylor can not do in the passing game what Rivers can. Tyrod can not carry this team with no running game.
Rivers had seasons where he had WRs they signed off the street with Washington and Alexander(to name a couple) and still made them productive when they weren't elsewhere. Inman looked good here with over 800 years in a season when he can't stick anywhere else.

Of course a running game will always help Philip but when we didn't have one, it was on him and he did well when he had a decent OL. When he didn't,.. Well he isn't superman.
