    Icing the kicker is lame.

    Saving your timeouts for the best QB in the NFL is a far better decision
    While having a great year, not the best in the NFL. And certainly not that day.

        Manning. Luck, Rodgers and Romo all probably on par.

        Sorry I wasn't trying to split hairs. He's in elite company for sure.

          You are splitting hairs. You said Rivers is not the best in the NFL. So who is better right now?

          None of this on par BS. Who is better?

              So Manning and Rodgers are playing better right now. And you think Luck is his equal.

              Good to know.

              I'd go with Rivers over all of them right now. That's just me

                  The exact quote without the question;

                  “They were playing it soft, especially early. It opened up a lot of lanes.

                  He's obviously not calling the players soft but part of their scheme

I watched him push the C back into the QB on one play. (It may have been a sack because Smith couldn't step up in the pocket.) It's nice to see this confirmation that Carethers is coming along at a difficult position. 5 tackles (per ESPN) in 13 plays, not bad.
                    Those bitching about the NT play in that game simply saw that we were giving up a lot onf runs and short pass plays and assumed the problem must be NT. Our NT play through-and-through was solid against the Chiefs. Our LBs and DEs on runs and short passes, not so much.

                      I think you might be onto something. Might explain why more massive NTs are preferable, since mass is so integral in determining the force of gravity.

                        JJ points out that most of the tackling issues were people overrunning the plays, and not playing with the correct leverage to use the help of the guys around them. Most of the missed tackles were out in space, how the hell is a NT going to help make tackles in space?

                        We need to get good playing the screens in space, because Manning loves those, and I can't see him backing off until he gets them up by a bunch. We are not a good bubble screen D, and this is the game where we are going to put it to the test. Denver might be the best bubble screen team of all time.
                        I agree with JJ. Our OLB'ers failed to maintain the edge and the CB failed to reset that edge and turn the play back inside. Not that help was coming because the ILB'ers played so bad. Wright looked particularly bad on one of those plays when he took a poor angle and let the ball carrier get outside, after I praised him recently for his great run support and consistency at resetting the edge.

                          You lost all credibility on the subject when you put Romo on that list.
