The Cleveland Browns. Speaking of Brown that is Donald Brown can we trade him to Dallas? McFadden, has McFaded yearly since he came in the league an Randle & Dunbar is nothing special. Hopefully McFadden does what he typically does get injured for and extended amount of time opening up a way for us to trade Brown. Them dam Houston Texans could use Brown too, Foster is a stud, but his last 3 years he's been injury prone.

what gives you even the slightest hint of a clue the Chargers are open to trading Brown? TT has not wavered in support of this guy and his salary is guaranteed = goin' nowhere Gilbert.

You must of forgot about TT signing of former Jacksonville Jaguar Cornerback Derrick Cox he got bench half way through the season and he got cut next year I forget what kind of money we end up swallowing the remainder of his guaranteed salary, but it is more than the 3 million we are paying Brown, who is off to a great start being inactive game 1, and looks like he will be inactive again game 2.

What purpose does he serve? We have 3 good backs on the roster, we would be better served having another OL man or LB in his roster spot, Troutman when he is ready how confident you feel with him in there, he has shown no growth in his game going into year 3.

        Gilbert that for thought!

If one RB gets injured, then you only have two RBs. That's Brown's purpose. WHEN one of the RBs gets banged up, Brown will be activated.
          Prediction:
          Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

Plus, Donald Brown is their best blocking RB (Scifres butchering notwithstanding).

Seriously? A 4 million inactive purpose? If they arent going to activate him making that kind of money, they need to cut him. You cant pass protect from the inactive list and that seems to be his forte.

Donald Brown is an expensive insurance policy, and possible leverage for a late round pick in a trade.

Why would anybody want Donald Brown enough to give a a draft pick for him? I think at best, he'd have to tryout and compete with nobodies for a job somewhere else.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

DB is not that bad, its how we see him through the lense of his contract. Oliver happens to be cheaper and he has potential and a great work ethic.

Definitely correlative support for that statement (see rich's stat about his presence in the game and sacks allowed to Rivers - 0) in the passing game especially. But I wonder how many times Brown actually blocked someone on pass plays last year.

Amen Brother!!!!!! What is the debate about this dude if he's not trade-able that means nobody thinks highly enough about him, so why do my fellow posters defend him and put value on him? Cutting him works for me and I think it is 3 million he is getting either way it is a waste, 3 million is 3 million on their books whether you cut him or keep him on the inactive list, I just suggest trading to try to re-coup something but as you guys keep saying he has no trade value why are we holding on to him, and please don't say for his blocking, the only thing he is blocking is us from opening up another roster position! I am out this isn't even debatable any more.

Go Boltjolt I agree with you 100!

LOL! You teenage Fantasy Football geeks crack me up. Coaches don't care about the best 53 man roster ON PAPER, and there's always going to be healthy inactives based on who the next opponent is, personnel groups needed for game plan, position groups that are healthiest and more. You must of forgot how many lame street FA RBs Telesco and AJ before him had to scramble for in season when we had injuries, and the fact Brown knows the offense already along with being healthy puts his value way above another RB we may have to bring in later if they cut him and we have an injury again.

And the Cox comparison is looney- Cox was the #1 rated FA CB and was paid a premium salary to come in here as a starter and lock down 1 side of the field- and failed miserably despite his history. Brown was brought in to be a rotational guy spelling both Mathews and Woodhead- not REPLACING BOTH at the same time when they were out. It wasn't Brown's fault our OL went to shit and BOTH Mathews and Woodhead were removed as primary RB contributers, as he's not cut out to be an every down feature back that always makes positive yardage by himself on every touch behind an OL that can't block and open holes for anyone. That wasn't his role and you can't reasonably expect that from him. Some of you guys need to get out of his jock with unrealistic expectations simply based on salary and being inactive.

mama still says goin' nowhere Gilbert!
