The Bolts couldn't afford Mack. I'll agree to that. But TT has to have a Plan B.

Raiders zero in on Eric Weddle after signing three prized players

The Raiders' up-and-coming roster added three key pieces via free agency, and those new players are pushing to add more.
Oakland made it official Thursday afternoon, announcing its signings of offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele, linebacker Bruce Irvin and cornerback Sean Smith.
The trio fills needs and helps upgrade a roster that went 7-9 last season, a four-win improvement over 2014. Now, the push to add free safety Eric Weddle to that group continues.
Weddle, a three-time Pro Bowl selection with the Chargers, is the team's next top target, and both Irvin and Smith are making their pitches for him to join the Raiders defense.

"I was talking to him before I even came up there," Smith said on a conference call of Weddle, with whom he shares an agent. "If we were to add Eric Weddle, this defense will be something special."
"He's a great player," Irvin said. "He's done a lot of great things in this league, understands what it takes to be a winner. We need more of those guys around here, so that's the biggest thing. I'm just trying to get as many players over here who want to be in and be a part of what's going to happen because it's about to be something special that really happens here."Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Ohio State is holding its annual pro day workout for draft prospects Friday, and attendance matches the hype for an Ohio State draft class that could match or surpass the record six first-round picks from a single school set in 2004 by Miami (Fla.).
No direct mention about the Chargers brass at the Ohio State pro-day. You would think they would have at a minimum Pagano there.
