      Ya moving on from what’s his face has really motivated AE to take on that leadership role.
      It looked to bother him when MG returned and got the bulk of the carries, I don’t blame him.

            When they parted ways with PR, I originally thought this season is doomed but as the off season progressed and they made a lot of moves, I have become convinced that we will be better on both sides of the ball.

            I really think this has turned into the best off season since the Tommy Prothro draft back in the 70's. If we hit on the rookies, this team could be really good.
            Ah, good old Tommy Pro...the coach who was so disgusted with his team's play, he once had them punt on THIRD down...

              Since this is a very different season, with a lot of unknowns, and no pre-season games, depth and experience will be even more important. Since COVID can take anyone off the field, it's not just important to have quality 2nd stringers, but also positional flexibility. A CB who can play Safety, a LB who can play DE, a backup OL who can play on the left or right, an OT who can play guard, and special teams, special teams, special teams!

              There is a backup kicker (the punter), but no backup punter or long snapper. Things to ponder perhaps in this different kind of season.

              Chargers have been pretty consistent with keeping their draft picks on the 53-man roster. So while I have no idea how skilled or improved players like Emeke Egbule and Cortez Broughton are, gonna assume they have spots. I remember doing some research on all the backup TE's that are listed, but nothing stood out. So after Henry and Green, the third TE spot is a guess. But veteran experience makes me think someone like Andrew Vollert has a leg up. I've heard a lot of hype or good things about Storm Norton, but never seen him play, and no idea how he does at the NFL level. I've read that he could kick inside to guard, and I've heard that Trent Scott could be moved to guard. I've heard Gabe Nabers could be a TE-FB hybrid type, which would be a nice fit since Bolts kind of need both. And Joe Gaziano would add depth to Edge Rush, which could become a big need if COVID strikes. However the new practice squad size and rules make it more likely that they'll end up there.

              Here's my start of Training Camp guess at the 53-Man Roster

              Offense (25 Total)
              QB: Taylor, Herbert, Stick (3)
              RB: Ekeler, Jackson, Kelley, Gore (4)
              WR: Allen, Williams, Reed, Hill, Patton, Jennings (6)
              TE: Henry, Green, Vollert (3)
              OT: Bulaga, Pipkins, Tevi, Scott (4)
              OG: Turner, Feeney, Lamp (3)
              OC: Pouncey, Quessenberry (2)

              Defense: (25 Total)
              DT: Joseph, Jones, Tillery, Broughton, Square (5)
              DE: Bosa, Ingram, Rochell, Nwosu (4)
              WL: Murray, Vigil (2)
              ML: Tranquill, Perryman, Jefferson (3)
              SL: White, Egbule (2)
              CB: Hayward, Harris Jr., Davis, Facyson, (4)
              FS: Jenkins, Adderley (2)
              SS: James, King, Gilman (3)

              Punter: Long
              Kicker: Badgley
              Snapper: Mazza

              Probably as boiler plate a guess as I can make. Without Pre-Season games, I suppose it's a blessing to have Hard Knocks. The offense battles for those 2nd string spots will be interesting.

                I remember Ek coming out of the huddle, setting up in the back field, and then splitting outside pre-snap. Does that snap count as him being a traditional RB or WR?

                  Final alignment position. Just as when lines up outside, motions to backfield to check coverage.

                    good list - I think without proper training camp and preseason games - hard for a UDFA to make a name

                      WR2 = KJ

                      7th rounder >> 7th overall

                      (not close.... 'specially re: receptions)

                      Reed gets coupla few touches/game....

                      WR3 = MW

                      (question is.... how long can MW hold off Reed for ?)

                          I think you are expecting too much to go along with your dislike for MW. I have hopes for KJ but to say he is already better than MW is a ridiculous statement.
