Topcat seems to have done a complete 180 with how he reacts to INTs, especially game-losing INTs. Funny to see.

Yep...let me put it this way...Herbie is a ROOK...and he's going to make rook mistakes...therefore, I, and a whole lot of other people on this board, have a lot more patience and understanding that the only way a rook is going to improve is to give him more reps, especially a TALENTED rook like Herbie...and anyone who watched those two beautiful TD bombs vs. the Bucs, PLUS those tight, perfectly placed throws to Parham and KA on the sideline, not to mention some very nice touch on multiple screen and swing passes, should agree Herbie has huge upside...now, having said that, I do see a big difference between Herbie throwing that ONE pick towards the end of the game, and Rivers slinging up MULTIPLE picks, forcing the rock REPEATEDLY into coverage for picks...

          Amazing.
I should know better than to be shocked by the ridiculous comparisons you come up with sometimes

But comparing the reaction to a game-losing int from a rookie starting his 3rd game after no preseason, coming from that Oregon offense
          to
A repeated pattern of game-losing ints from a 10+ year NFL vet

I have a hard time trying to think of two more polar opposite circumstances by which to make comparisons

I really hope you’re some 14 year old kid trolling on his dad’s account or something

That would be horrible. If it happens I will probably just listen to the game while playing on the Playstation.

Facing absurd pressure all day as well. The O line was throwing their famous “look out” blocks all game, as in “look out here he comes” while they whif on their man. He had guys in his face, he was running around and still lit up the place. I know it will be ups and downs for the kid this year but damn the peaks keep getting higher and the valleys less deep each week.

just hope Lynn does not stunt his development by putting Taylor back in.

Reason I love Herbert in no particular order

                      1. Talent shows up big time with no Pre-season games
                      2. Arm Talent not just a strong arm, but accurate
                      3. Poise he has made some incredible throws on target when he has been pressured and hit just when releasing the ball he doesn't look raddled
                      4. Playing behind the line missing 3 starter as rookie is not ideal but he is balling.
                      5. Throwing 3 TD's in a game to guys who weren't drafted
                      6. Despite Rookie mistakes with late interceptions, he is playing at a higher than expected level and he has made key third down plays prior to the INT, he will figure this out
                      7. He shines despite this coaching staff

he has a much stronger arm than rivers so he can actually toss a long ball. intermediate passes were pretty spot on with rivers but his bombs always seemed to be short and slow down the WR. if he ever learns to loft it like Russell Wilson he will end up having one of the best bombs. Wilson's bombs are a thing of beauty.

The dude is going to be a big time star. He is three games in and two of those three games were against the defending champs and the best front seven in the NFL without a starting rb and practice squad rookies at wr. AND HE ALMOST WON. We have him, we should be very happy he is a Charger now and for the foreseeable future. We need to give him as many reps as we can this year and then build around him as he will be a championship caliber quarterback quicker than anyone thought. We are 1-3 and apparently will not compete this season so give him the reps and next year with a healthier team we will be contenders.
