What is it about our Chargers coaches and their consistent ineptitude regarding special teams???

I’m reading this recent ESPN article on Koo making the Pro Bowl for the Falcons and seeing how we cut Lambo for Koo and realizing that both of these former Charger kickers are successful elsewhere - an all too familiar trend.

Heck, the kid even got improvement help from John Carney.

Meanwhile, we are an historically bad ST with a fired coach and yet another struggling kicker. How much you wanna bet Badgley goes on to find success with another team?

Koo may be similar to Kaeding...very good in regular season, but chokes in crunch time...

That kick by Koo looked straight on, but took a nasty hook at the end. I don't know if he's playoff clutch, but deserves his Pro Bowl selection.

I don't know about Badgley, maybe he just needs better holds that a new ST coach could figure out. Since Lynn took over, they have been playing better, but that's not hard if you were rock bottom.

Some of Badgley's long kicks this season started out so far to the right before hooking left that he must have kicked them aiming for the parking lot on the right.

Badgely needs to have competition for his kicking job. To keep him from getting complacent.

I'm no stat geek but I'm pretty sure that most of the missed FGs from Badgley are from long range attempts (45+), he seems to be pretty good on the 40 and minus yard range.

Thought I heard on radio he was 9 of 19 beyond 40, perfect inside 40. Not sure on the perfect inside 40 but the sub-.500 outside 40 sounds right.

What was interesting about yesterday was his kicks were not just good as in thru the uprights, but they were pure. Straight, dead center (mostly), good height and distance, and no hooking waggle or wiggle we see too often in his kicks.

ESPN is showing 8-13 from 40-49 and 2 of 6 from over 50. With making everything under 40. Also the 3 missed PAT's.
