Have to think a package deal is in place to move Mike Williams along with draft capital to be named later

Because it is 5 mil too much and every mil counts for a lot.
It makes much more sense to have him at 13 (preferably less) and get a good RB (if healthy) Marlon Mack for 2 like the Colts did. Then a draft pick can be used at another position because RB is now covered.

That’s why an extension will be key. And Popper believes that they’re happy with Kelly and will not be getting an RB unless there’s injuries like last year. That’s where the additional $7 million comes into play during the season.

                  I like the Cook signing.
Interesting to see how his numbers compare to HH's at the end of the season. Barring injuries to either, I'd imagine having JH as your QB as opposed to Cam will make a big difference.

Agree - there are better one year options for LT. Reiff, maybe Wagner or Kelly who have been predominantly RTs but as a bridge guy - they cannot be worse than Tevi

As for Jared Cool - was hoping for Kyle Rudolph but I don't hate it
This was always a bridge type signing.

Philly - my guess, really wanted too much for Ertz so smartly, the Chargers moved on.

The Cook signing is okay. My fear with Cook summarized by a Saints fan.

Cook will make a great play followed by a bunch of bonehead plays and a fumble or two, along with some drops. He seems to run wrong/lazy routes a lot, turns and breaks the wrong way, etc. I hate to say it, but he was a net negative IMO. Never played up to the potential we all thought he had.
Essentially, he was the reason the Bucs beat the Saints in the playoffs.

There we go, good value in my opininon. Cook has made is money and signed a reasonable deal. I think he is more than half as good as Hunter Henry.
Keep his job simple in the quick passing game. Lombardi knows what plays to call for him. Very durable and 13.2 ypr for career.
