Not quite sure where this goes, but Popper of The Athletic has been doing a weekly YouTube chat called "Hops with Pop" (because he likes to talk about beer along with the Chargers). Here is tonight's chat:

I agree, that's suprisingly low, but elsewhere he predicts Super Bowl contention next season. He doesn't say why, but maybe better depth and more time working with the new coaching staff. Just my guesses.

I can't see him being sharp at all without substantial reps every week. Especially being next to new teammates.

10 year vets don’t typically need ‘substantial reps’. It’s not like the regular season is full of padded practices, which is when the OL is going to really gel.

I don't think JAX would let us fleece them like that.

Last season I though 9-7 was a lowball prediction. Then we went 3-9. Oof, you never know.
I'm tempering my expectations, so I can be pleasantly surprised.

When you keep players like Stick and Pipkins that's a scary thing.
Hes gets to wacth practices.
I have no idea what will happen but if the offense does not score more per game then that would be tough to wacth.All thing considered.
Defense should at least be a little better.
ST better be because they keep a bunch of low end rosters players to improve it.

Compare this with LAC now.

Justin Herbert. Keenan Allen. Jared Cook. Mike Williams. Austin Ekeler.

Remarkably similar.

Then add in Josh Palmer. Jalen Guyton (btw 20# heavier than TBilly). Donald Parham.

We have a stockpile.
Massive production.
TBilly w/zero ST value was extraneous.
