Tide CB Surtain appears to pass pro day test … While several top Alabama prospects are sitting out the Tide’s pro day today, one who is not is CB Patrick Surtain. And by all accounts, Surtain, who is generally considered to be one of the top 1-2 corners in this year’s draft field, had a strong day. He measured in at a long 6-2, 208 with 32.5-inch arms; in fact, the kid looks absolutely sculpted with barely an ounce of fat. Surtain also ran better than expected with an unofficial, official clocking of 4.46 seconds. There were concerns that Surtain, while a superb technician, wasn’t necessarily a great athlete who would time closer to the 4.55 range. However, with that time, if it holds, with that length and that proven technical skill just screams top ten prospect.

Boiler WR Moore blitzes pro day workout … While most of the nation is focused on the Alabama pro day, Purdue WR RonDale Moore reportedly had a terrific day at the Boilermakers’ workout. Moore reportedly had a 42.5-inch vertical and an unofficial 40 clocking of 4.29 seconds. Moore exploded on the scene as a true freshman in 2018, but played in only a handful of games the past couple of years because of injury and covid issues.

WRs Smith, Waddle, others to sit out Tide pro day … The Alabama pro day is underway as we speak on the NFL Network; however, several of the Tide’s top prospects will not be working out including WRs Devonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle, RB Najee Harris, LB Dylan Moses, and C Landon Dickerson, reportedly because of some health issue. Alabama had already scheduled an additional pro day on March 30th at which some of those players will work out. However, Smith, this year’s Heisman Trophy winner indicated that he likely won’t work out until sometime in April at a private work out, although even then nothing is guaranteed. For the record, Smith did get weighed today and came in at 170 which of course is pretty light by NFL standards these days.

Great news for Surtain. He is the #1 CB. Would be hard to pass on if Slater is gone and he is there with all this QB talk. I think we got to do it, then may have to trade back in for Little.

Devonta i just suspect wont get on a scale and he dont really need to do anything else. We know he can run routes well. The only thing in question to everyone seems to be his lean skinny ass lol. Maybe they want to know his 40, idk.

Yeah, Surtain’s speed and other metrics is a pleasant surprise. Prolly cemented CB1 after Farley’s medical concerns.

        Also 22 reps and a 10’11” broad.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

Zach is also an outstanding punter! More you can do as a late day 3/UDFA.

The Central Missouri Pro Day was held in unison with the Missouri workout and Zach Davidson, who received an NFL Combine invitation, turned heads. Graded as a draftable prospect on my big board since last year, Davidson looked terrific in all elements of the pro day and drew lots of praise.

Related | NFL Pro Days 2021: List of all college pro days ahead of NFL Draft

Davidson measured 6’6 1/2″ and 245 pounds. He touched 37.5 inches in the vertical and 9’9″ in the broad jump. He also completed 17 reps on the bench press. His 40 timed between 4.58 to 4.62 seconds, with his three-cone coming in at a swift 6.95 seconds. Davidson’s short shuttle was 4.19 seconds. - impressive athletic profile

Those on hand told me Davidson looked terrific in pass-catching and blocking drills. He was described as a “tough, good football player,” something that comes through on game film. I’ve consistently graded Davidson as a 6th/7th round prospect, but today could vault him into the early or middle part of Day 3. The New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, and Philadelphia Eagles are teams heavily courting the tight end at this point.

The winner of the 2021 Missouri Pro Day was safety Tyree Gillespie, who continued the momentum of his terrific performance at Senior Bowl practice.

He timed as fast as 4.38 seconds in the 40 and 7.06 in the three-cone. Gillespie also put up 15 reps on the bench press. During drills Gillespie looked sensational, dropping just a few deep throws, which got lost in the indoor lights. His backpedal was quick and smooth, and Gillespie showed the ability to flip his hips. The Las Vegas Raiders sent their defensive backs coach to run the workout. Gillespie is also drawing interest from the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans.
