Just my own thought but I think a mans ability to be a good OT depends a lot more on his ability to move - a guy that has good feet can stay in front of a rusher or block a LB with ease and his arm length is not a big thing.
If he can simply move well enough to stay in the way of the rusher, he's good to go. We've all seen good OT's with somewhat short arms that had pro-bowl careers - they could do it because they could shadow the guys trying to rush their QB.
