They’d be out there cooking up victory briskets together. Sewell would protect it from getting dry, the ultimate protection.

You just reminded me that I had gone to the Stadium for a draft many many years ago.....I cannot remember who was our first pick?..... It may have been the Rod Bernstine draft?...Only thing I remember is it was in a room at the stadium and not that many people were there. Most people had pro football;l weekly or sporting news draft mags or the men viper guide (which started during 1983 draft with Elway and Marino)......

I also remember there days of getting up before 5am to watch the start of draft....... when it was all own one day..... that was a long long day..... lol

Those were the days. I forgot it started so early.

I ended up going to Castle Park for a semester in 92, when Coronado HS wouldn't let me back (had a lot of "energy" as a kid, lol).

Anyway, as far as Draft Day food, I'm going fishing today, so we'll be eating whatever mother Pacific blesses us with.

Haha...nice! That's where we used to steal all of our booze back in the day, because they had the alcohol section right next to the exit of the store, lol. They finally got wise and moved it after a while.

You are correct. Thats where the booze was - right out that door into the parking lot

They also liked to put wine by where you brought in the carts - I knocked over an end unit of wine once bringing in carts - lady cut me off I tried to move the carts and not hit her - I didn't hit her but couldn't bring the carts back - bam!
Oh well - it was a dumb place for wine anyway..
