While Acee is a tool, I don't see anything wrong with this article. Rivers is keeping his options open, as is his right. If the team is going to move, he will decide if he wants to move with them.

I have no problem with Rivers saying this. He doesn't want to move his family to LA and I don't blame him.

Look at the three teams drafting behind SD. All of them would love mariotta. Good of SD to put it out there that they might want mariotta as well.

Perhaps Rivers feels like a lot of the poster who say they'll stop following the team if it moved to LA.

Interesting discussion going on 1360. What do the Chargers do now? If they trade Rivers, before or during the draft, they're saying, we're moving to LA. If they don't do anything, it looks like the LA move is a bluff.

This. The article even suggests it. I am sure Rivers is aware of this possibility and maybe he only wants to play two more years and this would guarantee a huge salary in his final go round? If he signed an extension he would most likely have to sign for 2-3 years at a lesser salary than one final franchise tag go round.

Rivers strikes me as a guy that is not going to spin anything or put a front out there for anyone. I doubt this is all some sort of conspiracy to either gather support for a stadium or to help solidify our draft position.

I don't think so either. He can afford to sit and watch the stadium, see if the team is moving next year, see what kind of talent the roster has on it and then make a decision.
