However, he didnt need surgery which is a good sign. Tony Romo had that issue and did have suregry and he came back and had a great season last year. He is 35. If Rivers needs relief from a bulging disk on his nerves , that is where the surgery comes in to play. The fact he didnt need it is good news though i dont know how they treat a bulging disk asside from surgery since i dont have one of those. Athletes sure seem to get better care from their Dr's than we do.
I went back and clarifed a description in my earlier post as well that I didn't state well. What my Drs told me was the discs that are Bulging can in some cases eventually subside and reduce their size almost back to normal over time and with treatment. However the Ruptured discs lose all the elastic "jelly" inside and flatten out leaving almost no cushion between surrounding vertebrae. The lost "jelly" gets absorbed back into your body. The surgery they thought I might need was a cleanup to take out the empty "casing" of my ruptured disc if it caused problems. I don't know exactly what Rivers had/has but he said he was back to playing golf and normal activities and might be healed if nothing was actually ruptured.Life is too short to drink cheap beer

If Rivers is dissatisfied with the organization, it didn't start this offseason. That's my point. Rivers has always been a Chargers loyalist. He's always struck me as a guy that wants to stay here, win a ring and finish his career as a Charger. That's doesn't just evaporate over a tough season littered with injuries that likely contributed to his own, an empty threat to move to LA to get SD off the dime and a free agency period that didn't result in 5 new linemen and $250M in outlays for new guys. I don't think he's stupid. And I don't think he's that shallow. Now if there are other things going on at Chargers Park that I'm not aware of (like the AJ-Marty stuff), thats a different story. The developments with Weddle may indicate that. But it sure doesn't seem like the org they set up under TT is inclined that way.
On a sidenote, Dean and Alex have presided over some extremely poor organizational setups that always seem to result in dysfunction, so I don't put that past them. But for now, we don't know anything about that. What we do know is that Rivers has power in the situation and he's using it to influence it (as I have said since the outset), but there is nothing so far that suggest to me that he is eager to leave SD.
