Young is a great young player, but I bet if the Skins had it to do over again Herbert would be the pick.

BTW, If they can stay healthy I think the Bolts will have a top 10 OL this yr. Slater will be a top 10 LT but most likely Bulaga wont be able to stay healthy all season. Fieler needs to stay healthy and he will be an upgrade at RT. Jaimes is going to surprise at OG.

There’s no comparison between a good edge rusher and a franchise QB. Teams give up 3 #1s to get their QB

We have new coaches throughout our team and it seems drastically new schemes for both the offense and defensive play (and complicated ones at that). Basically I think the WFT has an edge playing us in week one - as opposed to a later date - while we struggle to figure out what works and what doesn't. Will that edge be enough to win the game for WFT? I dunno. And Bulaga being iffy doesn't help.

          Top two factors in football:
          Who has better QB?
          Who has better chess-meister coaching?

          We win on both counts.

Rooster might think he's bigger and tougher. No match for our cat.

Can't go wrong with either player, but you must take a franchise QB first...So the answer is herbert.

I've enjoyed you hanging out with us, Red1. You should consider an "extended visit." (as in swapping your pigskin citizenship as I traded Cowboy citizenship)

We've done analysis and trash talk, a good fun mix. I do like Fitz, your coach's heart, and your front four. Your franchise is doing some things to get u towards the middle of the league. But hardTruth? If you want to get to the top you gotta find fast risers. Staley/Herbert are that. You'll never find fast risers there, if you stick & stagnate in that soil.

I dumped Jerry Jones as I got tired of him dumping on his fans. I didn't owe him any allegiance and said good riddance. I'd imagine some WFT fans who might say the same to Snyder?

Seems like so much of Washington feels dirty and broken these days. True souls deserve/seek a better path.

While I will enjoy our Sunday triumph I'll be bummed to know that by halftime you'll be cursing every minute you spent here. Someone must win, someone lose. After the hard thrashing, do remember, you have a second home here. Sincerely. Snyder doesn't care a glob of snot for you...why any loyalty to him?

Technically, the grass isn't greener over here, but the uniforms bluer. PowderBlue, richest, truest color on the planet. The defining color of the planet.

Red(1)...for grins and for dreams, do watch a clip and think it over. Consider your football future. The football place you crave... you learned from the Shawshank movie: Zihuatanejo. It's embedded now in many of your dreams.

Why Zihuatanejo? It's PowderBlue waters and PowderBlue skies. A place with no memory, right on the beach.
If you watched Field of Dreams...you've sniffed it.
If you've heard Staley speak you've felt it.
If you've watched Herbert throw you've seen it.

                    Fitzgerald is the big unknown.

About half the time, he plays well enough to be considered among the best QB in football.

The rest of the time, he is a sub-par starter, who turns the ball over a lot.

It's hard to know how quickly he has picked up the offense and how in synch is he with his receivers. Usually, Fitz's best games are early in the season, but that is usually with him coming back to the same team. so you just don't know.

Washington DL can give the best OL problems. Young and Sweat are potentially big problems, but they are 2 deep at both DT spots, and they rotate enough to keep people fresh. The rest of their D has good, but not necessarily scary players.

Their OL was not too bad last year, so a lot will depend on how well their OT, who have been in flux, play. We have some good talent at DL, but while the guys we have were good draft picks only Bosa plays like it .Their guys are achievers or overachiever types, so you have to give the WFT the edge. Our DL is bigger than the Rams DL last year, where none of their guys was all that big.
