Logan Thomas, 7th best TE last year with the following qbs - Haskins/Smith/Kyle Allen - A qb room that had the worst combined passer rating in the NFL.

Fitz had the 5th best ESPN QBR last season. Hate Fitz all you want, he is going to be a huge pain in your defense's butt tomorrow.
Fitz is a fearless old vet......When Fitz is hot, he can definitely light up any defense.... hoping tomorrow is one of his off days with 2-3 picks...... =)

win or lose, tomorrow is a huge game for Chargers, because it will be the first time our starters play together (or be tackled) with a completely new offense, defense, and ST's....... None of us really know if this team is actually ready for real football or will take a few games to start to get to where they want to be.....?

Tomorrow will be exciting because its almost like getting a new franchise, new beginning, new direction, attitude, etc. Anything could happen, good or bad, tomorrow. And it starts bright and early so we dont have to wait half the day.

    Go Chargers!!!

I couldn't let Redskins1 stand alone though, so let me add a second WFT voice here. Can't wait for the game, and to see how both teams show up. Love the early matchup for these two teams. I see big things for both teams. A few quick notes on why my WFT will win tomorrow and why they could lose:

The obvious - Our Dline will dominate your Oline. I'm not talking about Sweat/Chase at the ends, you will see a guy Matt Ionnaidis tomorrow, who will be huge. He was our best DL guy before he got injured, and he is a monster. The rotation of Allen/Payne/Settle/Ionnaidis will prove too much for your line so early in the season.

The shocking - the QB on the field with the better completion percentage last year is Fitzpatrick (68.1 to 65.1) the QB on the field who was better under pressure last year per nextgenstats(see link) - Fitzpatrick.

The tried and true - Coaching experience. Between Rivera and Jack Del Rio, our team's coaching staff has more experience at calling games then your whole staff combined

The reasons we can lose -
Fitzpatrick's INTs . No doubt if Fitztragic shows up, the burden will be on our defense not only to stop Herbert and his strength, but keep our team from imploding.
Our rookie St. Juste can't handle Mike Williams. He looks the role, but Mike Williams can make him look like a rookie.
Derwin James - He can really make Fitzpatrick look bad. If he does that, we will struggle.

Once more, Good luck to your team this year and hope we see a good, clean, injury free game.
Huh? Herbert led the NFL in yards & TDs when pressured, #10 Q under pressure? per the link.

WFT DL will DOMINATE LAC OL? LAC has the NFL's top rookie LT, quality vet OL led by the NFL's best C. You'll make some plays, so will we.

More HC experience - granted. May or may not be significant.

None of your LB/ DBs can handle Keenan Allen. Double him or hang it up.

                Dirtto: clean, injury free.

Joe Gibbs went 0-5, nearly lost his job in a sit down with the owner Jack Kent Cooke. He became an amazing coach.

The WFT run game featuring Gibson will run for over 100, yrds which will create play action for the journeyman to work his magic..
Logan Thomas our TE will expose your LB'S,watchout for this dude he is on the rise...
I guarantee ya Terry McClaurin will get deep on your secondary atleast twice if not more..
We have alot of speed on offense even with Curtis Samuel being out, your secondary will struggle to keep up..
                    My DEFENSE...enough said!!!
It has often been said that anything can happen on Sundays in the NFL, but I would not want to be the one counting on a mediocre at best journeyman to outplay a legitimate MVP candidate at the QB position.

Also, as I have stated previously, WFT's defense, while good, beat up on a bunch of QB challenged teams last year. The WFT defense is not as good as you think it is. WFT was 0-5 against QBs ranked even in the top 15 in passer rating. One of those losses was to a 5-11 Detroit team. In 4 of those 5 losses, the opponent put up 30+ points against the WFT defense. In 4 of those 5 losses, the top 15 ranked QB in question had a passer rating for the game above 100. In other words, the WFT defense can be had by good QBs. The Chargers have one of those.

The WFT QBs struggled mightily the last time going against a Brandon Staley called defense. The Rams lost the turnover battle 1-0 and still won 30-10--with Jared Goff at QB. WFT was shut out in the second half. WFT is a bottom 10 offensive unit and even that might be a charitable characterization of them.

And that is the reason why WFT struggles so much in terms of its results against teams with better QBs. If the opponent scores a bunch of points, the WFT offense has no answer as the offense managed to score over 30 points exactly once against a putrid Dallas defense.

The defensive units seem close in overall talent. The last time Bosa and James played any significant number of games together, the defense was a top 10 unit in both yards and points allowed. This year, they will join players on the rise, including Tillery, Nwosu, Adderley, Davis, Jones, Murray and Tranquill to go along with solid veterans in Harris and Joseph. It is not obvious at all the WFT has the better defensive unit.

But it is obvious that the Chargers have the much better offensive unit--much better at QB, better at RB, much better at WR, better at TE (but close), and better OL.

Unless the Chargers lay an egg, they should win. If they come out sharp and not rusty, the win will be by 2-3 scores.

Love the response! I didn't really understand the link either, but it was a valid source. Herbert is definitely better than Fitz longterm. In any given game, Fitz could be magical and better. I don't know which one will show up tomorrow.

I don't think Slater has played in 2 years? Chase has been honing his craft the past year. I think your OL will have a huge struggle. Our DL has played together and are more like a wolf pack preying on the weak link in the line. That may be Bulaga, or one of your guards, one way or another our DL will be in the backfield all day.

William Jackson III played Keenan Allen last year in game 1, and held him to 4 catches on 8 passes. It was not Herbert, but still WJ3 has experience and can at least hold his own with KA. Having our down 4 in control of the line will allow all 7 LB/DBs to be watching the 2nd and 3rd level of the defense.

The WFT really did make some strides, our biggest question is our OC, can he actually call a game, but he still has more experience then your whole coaching staff.

Gibbs is my favorite former assistant from the Chargers, followed by Ron Rivera. Can't say too much good about Al Davis other than getting Lance Alworth.
