The Chargers had the second highest run % on 2nd and short (after Baltimore), which is the most efficient passing situation. Because Anthony Lynn thought we were a "top 10 running team" despite being 30st in ypc and 6th in rushing fumbles.
I think WFT fans are the one group that can understand your point. 2019 our coaching staff was Jay Gruden et al. They literally had no clue how to run a football team. The defense improvement is proof of that. Our problem last year was that the owner had tied us to a terrible QB (Haskins), an injury prone backup (K Allen) and an immobile one (Smith).
I think you all are going to be an explosive team this year, and damn fun to watch. I just hope that tomorrow it is not quite in sync.

Cred this is a good matchup for both teams and the fact is either team can win it,that makes more exciting...May the best team (WFT) win..

I disagree about Thomas, but agree with your statement that he got targeted more because of lack of receiving options last year. Like your OL we entirely revamped our receiving corps, but unlike an OL there is not a group gel time for WR's. Our receiving corps of McLauren, Brown, and Sims is going to stretch the field more, opening the mid range for both Thomas and Gibson.

It really all comes down to Fitzpatrick - if he plays turnover free, we will win. If he can't get it together we won't.

Either way, I expect a helluva game
There’s no gel time for an all new WR group, and all new QB, all playing in a new system? Fitzspastic seems to agree …

… In the Burgundy and Gold's latest matchup versus the Bengals, Fitzpatrick nearly exceeded 100 yards in a quarter of action, but he wasn't very sharp in key situations.

He didn't hit Thomas on an easy out route on a third down attempt to keep a possession going, and he missed both Thomas and Adam Humphries for would-be scores later in the evening.

In Fitzpatrick's mind, though, those mistakes don't warrant any type of panic. He was looking in the right places, he picked out the correct targets and, unfortunately, he just didn't top it all off with a completion in those instances.

"I’ve missed plenty of throws in my career, I’m sure that’s not going to be the last one," Fitzpatrick said. "You like to find out the why. Was it a bad throw, was it technique, was he not in the place I thought he was going to be? You go from there and you just work it out."
“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

The difference should be night and day.
Of all those WRs, only McLaurin is any good.

Fitzpatrick has a career QB rating of 82.3 and has never been able to stick as the long term starter anywhere. I doubt his breakout season is coming in his upper 30s for an offensive unit that has every appearance of being a bottom 10 unit.

My guess is that WFT would have been better off sticking with Haskins and seeing what he had in year 3, the year that many QBs take off.

If anyone in the NFCLeast is any good this year, WFT will not be a playoff team anyway.

I think the lack of experience in coaching, and lack of real play time with the new schemes will tell the tale.

But again, think it will be a great matchup
Again, WFT went 0-5 against teams with a top 15 ranked QB in passer rating. The scoring improvement was due in significant part to playing against crappy QBs all season long.

You are at home. If the game were in LA , it would be LA being favored.
Typically the Home team gets 3 points just for being the Home team.

But I think we win by 7

Line did shift to the WFT.

Like I said earlier in the week, going to the east coast is my biggest worry, not the opponent. Fitz will be a key. He can be real good or real bad. Make him move out of the pocket and he won't be real sharp.

                      Don’t worry—he won’t have to.

BTW, how’d Logan Thomas do against Staley’s defense last year?

                      Don’t stress,
                      I’ll remind you:
                      1 rec, 4 yards

…and our LBs are far better than what the Rams had.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

Nobody knows what to expect from this new Charger regime.

NFC East was a shitshow of injuries last season. WFT would have been WTF otherwise
