I think Rashawn Slater's first game was on a similar level to Herbert's first game last year. TT is hitting big time on his recent first round picks.

Was thinking about that. For all the criticism TT takes he has hit home runs with his recent first rounders that turn into franchise cornerstones. Bosa, James, Herbert and Slater. Pretty good building blocks

Actually, he picked a very good CB in Verrett (can't blame the GM for injuries). Followed that up with Melvin Gordon. (Even though we don't like him because of his demands for more money the guy is a good RB.)

Mike Williams and Kenneth Murray aren't too shabby either.

The only real miss is Tillery.

I believe I said his recent first round picks have turned out well - I think Fluker was too long ago to be considered recent.

However, even if you want to include him, he's still in the league after all these years. He wasn't what TT had in mind when he picked him but a guy that lasts all this time isn't really a miss.

Fluker has been a starting caliber OL player for about a decade. He isn’t a miss. He was just an OG.

By career AV he is a top 20 player from the whole 2013 draft class.

Fluke was drafted to start at RT...he was a bust there, and got kicked inside...imagine Slater as a bust at LT, then having to kick him inside...I still call Fluke a bust, but since he did last many years at G, call him a HALF-BUST...

Yeah TT thought he'd be a sure Tackle in the NFL. If the Chargers didn't draft him he'd likely be there in round 2-3 to be drafted as a Gaurd

So a round 2-3 talent guy being in the NFL for about a decade means he's projection was accurate. Just not for TT. Slater was a good redemption.
