They weren’t lying about putting the offense in Justin Herbert’s hands. The Chargers passed 63.5 percent of the time on early downs, which was the sixth-highest rate of any offense. Herbert was pressured on just 12.2 percent of his pass plays, which was the lowest rate for any starter in Week 1. That’s especially impressive, given that the Chargers were facing Washington’s talented defensive line.
Play that won the game.
Herb n KA read the coverage identically.
It's all about the W's.
Insane amount of trust. Justin is throwing from his own 10 yard line, protecting small lead. There are 3 defenders in the vicinity and Herbert throws before Allen turns, trusting that Keenan will see the same thing and act accordingly.
This is one reason I don't think we fans have any business critiquing WR roster spots. In addition to ST and blocking there is so much required of a receiver we fans don't discern.

This. Even to the bottom f the depth chart, Hill and Palmer were 4 for 4 and at least two 1st downs.
Speaking of a different offense this year, Storm Norton. The guy has changed night and day from playing under Anthony Lynn and his staff. He’s either gone thru a metamorphosis on his own or Staley and his staff have changed him from being a liability (false starts and missing blocks) to an actual solid backup. Almost shocked me. Not as freaked out now if chronic injuries should plague Bryan Bulaga this season.
Impressive as hell. The Bolts' 3rd down conversion rate was unheard of, something like 14 of 19. And they did it primarily with passing.
agree.... that is how you win football games and eventually championships.....
im sure brady has many stories like this he could tell...... its obvious this is the most different and professional coaching staff we have ever had.....

Norton got a ton of help out there. With Gregory out, will the Chargers continue doing that against the Cowboys if Lawrence is over Slater?
