Third Down Conversions -- Chargers 14-19 on third down, while Washington Football Team was 3-10.

I could marvel at that stat all-day.

Technically 14-18. Last 3rd down was a kneel down.

Funny indeed. He seemed to gloss over the worst call of the entire weekend with the Herbert "fumble" incomplete pass out of the endzone. The reason we have replay is to avoid those bad calls but the idiots in NY are just surfing porn and not paying attention to the game so we got hosed big time.

No he said it was a bad call and didn't know what NY was looking at.

Washington is again in QB trouble, and Justin Herbert reminded of what could have been

WashPo columnist Barry Svrluga lamenting WFT didn't draft Herbert. Notes that the QB has much more impact on the game than a DE, even a good one like Chase Daniels. And that the Chargers have a bright future with Herbert while WFT's 30 years of quarterback wilderness has no end in sight.

Herbert had 24 completions to WRs. This is not a problem.

And Jared Cook had a pretty good day as well. I think going forward Parham will see more targets too. Surprisingly, the RBs weren't targeted much. But you know Ekeler is going to see his share of pass targets, as well as Justin Jackson. Lots of playmakers on this offense for Herbert to throw to. Back to the WRs - KJ Hill has a couple of nice catches, including one of the 3rd down conversions on a long pass on that final drive. I look forward to his future development. Herbert knows how to use his weapons well.

Slater, Feiler and Linsey were absolute studs out there.

Slater and Feiler were singled up on WTF players in pass pro and absolutely stoned them the entire game.
Linsey would help Aboushi, Norton was getting rbs and tight ends to chip for him every play.

Chargers left side to oline is the best in the AFC west - no question.

It's nice to see coaches that understand you can't put all linemen on an island and expect them to win every time.

In yesterday's game the backs often stayed home to help pass protect. It was the game plan for a very good front. It won't be the game plan very often I would guess.

This won't help. His contract is what determines and they will fade.

I think this is correct. The EZ drops were by Guyton and MW. KA was in the RZ but not the EZ.

I was one of those posters that worried about arms length.. I will more than gladly eat crow on it! He was a STUD out there on the edge against both Sweat and Young, which is no doubt saying something.

I thought arm length could be an issue as well. However, Slater did a great job for us yesterday. So maybe this is one of those instances where despite there being a small deficiency versus what is ideal in one area, Slater is so good in other areas that he more than makes up for the much discussed arm length deficiency.

So many points left on the table unfortunately.....Keenan drop inside 5, Williams drop in endzone, bullshit ref touchback call.

Washington QB fumble and DT Jones and LB Murray just stand there and don't pounce on it......for goodness sake, don't assume anything, recover it!! and let refs sort it out.......big lost opportunity!!
Pass D Ok, run D needs improvement.
Vizcaino made all his kicks, kicked most kickoffs deep into end zone, nice Job!
Kick and return coverage bad, and penalties, can't be starting our possessions on the 12 yd line. Not to mention not fair catching and letting the ball bounce 20 yds to Charger 17 or so. Please fix this!


Chargers should have won by at least 13 points. I'm very optimistic Bolts are a very good football team.:Beer1:

Agree about Ekeler probably being a game plan thing. I guess I expected more screens to negate the pass rush but the OL didn’t really need help in that regard.

JH10 said that he had time to push the ball downfield that is why Ekeler didn’t get chech downs.
I almost can’t wrap my head around what that statement means. Quality, above average, even spectacular pass protection for an entire game.
