So? As a starter he's made the conference championship every year. Nobody wins all of the big games but he's obviously won a lot more than he's lost.

Won more than Herbert - who has never played in a playoff game. Makes him the man to beat.

Mahomes has only won the SB once out of all of that. He lost the AFC Championship twice and he lost the SB last season. He's 1-3. He's no Tom Brady.

And so far, Herbert is no Mahomes. Fair statement.

Where did I say he was? He lost that AFCC against Brady because that idiot Dee Ford lined up offsides. He doesn't do that KC goes to the SuperBowl. Both AFCC games he lost were in overtime. And against Brady in the Super Bowl his O Line was decimated. They were starting 2nd and 3rd string players at every position, some of them playing out of position. Going against a great pass rushing defense that's generally not going to turn out well.

Herbert is 1-3 against him and has never been to the playoffs. Obviously he's no Mahomes.

Well see you have your facts wrong. Herbert is 2-2 against the Chiefs. Herbert has only faced Mahomes three times. The first time was Herbert's first ever game in the NFL as a rookie thrust into the game with 10 seconds notice. He out-played Mahomes and the Chargers would have won that game if not for bad coaching decisions. Hebert beat Mahomes in their second meeting. In their third meet, Herbert again out-played Mahomes, but a bad decision by the Chargers' coach and ridiculously poor defense cost Herbert the game. In my estimation, Herbert has played well enough to be 3-0 v Mahomes and should be if not for circumstances not under Herbert's control.

Fair statement because Herbert is better than Mahomes.

Based on the fact that Herbert entered the league as a rookie in a pandemic year with a limited off-season and practice, with almost no reps with the first team offense in camp or in practice, relegated to the role of backup, but 10 seconds before kickoff in the 2nd game of his rookie year he is thrust into the game against the Super Bowl champs and their star QB, and Herbert starts playing like an elite QB from the moment he took his first snap. No other player in NFL history has ever accomplished that, no other player in NFL history has ever accomplished what Herbert has accomplished in his first two years in the league. Mahomes had the luxury of sitting his rookie season behind a Pro Bowl QB on a playoff caliber team before he became a starter. Herbert, in his 2nd season, had more passing yards, threw more TD passes and had a higher average per attempt than Mahomes did, playing on a team with less talent than Mahomes.

I have my facts wrong, huh? Herbert has been in the league two seasons. His first year starting he was swept by KC, and his second year he split. How does that add up to 2-2? Is that some kind if new math?

Tell you what, when Herbert has won league MVP, Super Bowl MVP, and is Super Bowl champ come back and talk to me.

By rhe way, if KC is that much superior in talent, why do a lot of analysts pick the Chargers to win the division ever year?

Mahomes, Herbert, Allen, Burrow. The best young QBs in the league, and they are all pretty close in talent leve.. The teams with these QBs are going to be poised for deep playoff runs every year while these guys are in their primes. The team that has the most success will the team that is able to build the best roster around one of their QB.
