The play that still was the worst call of all was the Aboushi play. Thats an official looking to make a call. Thats where the official should go up to Aboushi and say, you were getting a little too far down field, watch it next time. It had ZERO bearing on the play - meaning a screen pass where the ball carrier is that side of the field. Aboushi disengaged and was two yards down field in total.

Merged Quaksaws thread into this one. Both feel like Officiating/Penalty discussions.

The penalty on Keenan for taunting was a horrible harbinger of things to come. But, calling Jared Cook on an 'illegal shift' on a TD was just amazing. It gave the Cowboys the game.

I don't ever want to see Tony Corrente's crew again.

Well, 20 total penalties with 12 on the Chargers and 8 on the Cowboys...not including ones that were declined. Maybe this officiating crew was getting some sort of bonus for throwing flags?

Well, when you follow it up with, the very next play, a play that many officials would call DPI on -- its a tough couple plays. Followed by the Herbert "sack." So three plays in a row - all were judgement calls. And I include illegal motion as they deemed two players moving when they let others like that go. And all three went against the Chargers.

After the bogus call, it was the first time I saw Staley say bullsh*t. That was pretty sweet!

Can we bring back the Ben Dreiths, the Bernie Kukars of the world, maybe Jerry Markbreit.

NFL has lost some good officials in the last five years - many to TV: John Parry, Scott Greene, Gene Steratore (he was the best)

That's exactly it. 3 consecutive bad calls against the Chargers. The officials took points off the board again.

The first one seems correct after further review. The other two were judgement calls - but all three went against the Chargers at a key point of the game and the field. And if Corrente can use "grey" area to make the Herbert call -thats just bull crap. It shouldn't be gray - if the guy is not on the ground, and how many times have we seen running backs avoid a knee or elbow down to get more yards - than Herbert should be allowed to throw it away. If there is not in the grasp anymore, Corrente effed up. It was as Staley said, a BS call.

Anyone that thought the Chargers were going to get fair officiating against the Cowboys were kidding themselves or haven’t been watching the Chargers for the past 50 years.
