Put the stands 10 feet directly OVER the track. Fence off the track during races.

I don't know why they even run 1500 meters anymore, they only actually race for 400 of those.

It doesn't matter what the estimated costs are.....the over run will be 400 % +

The 1500 is really now a middle-distance event. The thing is that now strategy has turned it into a one lap event. You can't push the pace and gain enough separation to get away from the kickers. I don't even know why the call the 1500 "the metric mile." It should be 4 complete laps and be 1600 meters. But you will never see a world record in either in a big even like the Olympics or the World Championships in that event.
