Raiders at Chargers MNF Pregame Discussion

Hayward’s been balling out for them. Debatable who’s better between him and Michael Davis. Davis recovered two fumbles last week for us so that’s nice but has been somewhat mediocre besides that according to PFF.

Hayward is going to be burnt toast this weekend. Thus far he's been matched up with a backup quarterback and week wide receiving corps in Miami, a Pittsburgh offense called by Matt Canada who is a complete disaster, and a massively banged up ravens squad. I believe we will be able to contain the raiders pressure and Herbert is going to have a field day.

This is easily the best passing game he will have encountered, but it is not predicated on speed and he is familiar with its players - Hayward might do well.

Davis is graded at 36.5 and Hayward is graded at 82.8…in 2021.

I guess you’re right it’s not debatable but not in the way you’re thinking…

I trust PFF’s grading system about the same as I would trust you on football analysis.

What are their coverage grades?
Can Casey run anymore?
Can Casey successfully manup 13 or 81?
He stopped being “ShowCase” about 3/4 years ago. He is a savvy vet with very tired legs.

Much more to football than pure stats or PFF.

Davis is faster, more athletic, Hayward is more experienced, has less range.
Congrats to Casey for having a good season with Gus so far.

Obviously not happy about K9’s ankle, but Tranq is the hotter LB at the moment. Better tackling, vision, coverage, positioning, and he’s an underrated pass rusher. Last Sunday he bull-rushed Thuney into the QB. Not many players (let alone ILBs) can do that.

For the short term, Tranq will get max snaps, and I believed he’ll rise to the occasion.

But K9 is a competitor. When he gets healthy he’ll do everything possible to earn back his role.
