This attitude that these companies are like charities and shouldn't be making money is hilarious. They are a business and I am a customer. If they aren't making a profit they won't be in business long.
61% of NFL revenue is split evenly between the teams, the sole exception being the Cowboys - they keep 100% of their merchandise sales and don't reap any profit from the other 31 teams.

Great move, Cowboys. Teams keeping their money and not sharing has worked out great for baseball.

Which reminds me, in regards to Kronke wanting to move against the wishes of the NFL. I keep hearing here that the NFL can make life "difficult" for Kronke if he goes rogue. Seems to me if you have enough jack you can do whatever you want.

Did anyone anywhere claim they shouldn't make money? I do have expectations that an extremely healthy business shouldn't be demanding subsidies, or at least the subsidies should be in line with the public's ROI.

Is there an extremely healthy business anywhere not getting subsidies? Not trying to troll, just thought that's what happens at that level of business, the super-rich successfully maneuver to become richer, usually off the backs of us sheep.

Every business benefits off of infrastructure. It's called roads, transportation networks, and communications lines.

But somehow I think the output of a company like Intel is slightly more important than the output of an NFL football team.
              Prediction:
              Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

People benefitting off the backs of the common man through government goes all the way back to before Egypt... Before China....

Kinda of what we do. It's in every culture throughout time.

Just don't be an asshole about it.(speaking of fibs)

As long as the NFL can fleece the taxpayers for money to build stadiums nothing is gonna change.

true, and it really is the NFL that is driving this not the owners....the NFL needs these stadiums to run their multi billion dollar business. Hell the taxpayers built the the infrastructure/roads for the stadiums and we finance the police, fire departments electrical grids, all things that go to run a successful sports arena/stadium..haven't we done enough?

                        The owners are the NFL.

One thing that is overlooked when discussing how stadiums subsidize rich owners: building a billion dollar stadium does pump that billion dollars into the local economy of the city that builds it. There is a bump in jobs and supplies bought, etc., which does generate taxes and in theory more money spent in the trickle down effect. It is obviously a short term bump that ends when the stadium is built, but it is not insignificant.
