This attitude that these companies are like charities and shouldn't be making money is hilarious. They are a business and I am a customer. If they aren't making a profit they won't be in business long.

Is there an extremely healthy business anywhere not getting subsidies? Not trying to troll, just thought that's what happens at that level of business, the super-rich successfully maneuver to become richer, usually off the backs of us sheep.

But somehow I think the output of a company like Intel is slightly more important than the output of an NFL football team.Prediction:
Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

One thing that is overlooked when discussing how stadiums subsidize rich owners: building a billion dollar stadium does pump that billion dollars into the local economy of the city that builds it. There is a bump in jobs and supplies bought, etc., which does generate taxes and in theory more money spent in the trickle down effect. It is obviously a short term bump that ends when the stadium is built, but it is not insignificant.
