Bird was kinda a knucklehead. Lot os stupid mistakes and a few penalties. Not awful, but if you don't make many plays, it is hard to offset the negative plays.

Dzubnar makes plays, and the stuff he doesn't do well are the kind of things that can be fixed, or lived with if he was a backup.

So, did DZ do enough so get him a roster spot? I think if we put him on our practice squad, he'll get poached for sure.

still got a week to go. And mostly backups play the last week. That's his shot.

Dzubnar led the team with 6 tackles, 1 sack, 1 QB hit and 1 TFL.

Welcome Nick, you made the team tonight.

Wasn't he in on a special teams stop?

He's been in the top 2 as far as tackles go in every game and had another game with 2 sacks. Hell, he could sit the next game out with the number ones as far as I am concerned. Of course I guess we need to see what all he can do on a consistant basis against the other teams starters, or at least solid backups. But you have to admit, he's been pretty impressive so far for a UDFA.

He's also from a nothing school. He needs reps.

Nick Dzubnar needs to shine on special teams to build case for 53-man roster. Even then, a numbers game. Solo tackle on kickoff only helps.

Gehlken has no idea what he's talking about.

If we're keeping 4 other ILB's...he better be making ST tackles, that's all I can say.

I like him. SDSU played against them the year before last (my SDSU, not your SDSU). Cal Poly isn't a bad FB program...they are not the NDSU's of the world, but they aren't terrible, either.

Actually I think he is spot on. If he doesn't shine on ST, he won't make the final cut down. As it is, I expect him to be in the final cuts and they will try to get him to sign on the PS. Injuries happen, and I would expect him to get some valuable playing time at some point.
