I think bonehead was saying the opposite----that it's often a bunch of locals (as opposed to a bunch of travelers) who are cheering the most for the opposing team.

I wasn't too impressed with Gordon. If he continues to hesitate, there is going to be a bunch of 'O line sucks' threads/posts this year. He also seemed to struggle in blitz pickups (however, Seattle 'brought it' yesterday, so some of that is to be expected). Gordon just needs to run to daylight and quit thinking. We could be seeing a lot of running back by committee early on this year (not such a bad thing).

As far as Gordon being a bust, it's not like Woodhead put up great numbers behind the first string line either.
Exactly....and at least it seems like MGIII isn't willing to go down at first contact. I think he's gonna be a tough runner, once he gets rhythm in a real game.

Also, I like how our bar is set so low that a dude like Keenan Allen looks like a stud for catching a couple inside slants.

Otherwise, Melvin Gordon is pretty much a bust so far. Oliver... has definitely improved. He's much stronger than last year. +1 man. Oliver is no longer "just a guy" in my eyes.

I'm surprised other teams haven't figured out what the Charger defense has. Rush a dude who is just as fast as Wilson and then he sucks because you've taken away his "center of gravity" (running around alot).

"T-Rex" Mager is a stud in making. He's definitely won the 3rd CB job in my eyes.
Did you really just use the word bust about Gordon after he has played in only two preseason games?

I know....crazy, isn't it? I predict a lot of crow being served up this year (& I'm not just talking about when we play the Ravens either)!

            Prove the haters wrong, MGIII!

It can be both. My cousin who is a Seahawks fan came down with a large group to watch the game last year. Why did they choose San Diego over somewhere else? SD is awesome, that's why.
                Prediction:
                Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

You have to look at the O line first when your running game sucks. When the D is in the backfield, you're not going to get too many yards. When you see Huey get pancaked and run over, you're not going to get too many yards. When you see the LT and the TE blocking the same guy, you're not going to get too many yards. When the DT comes through the B gap untouched, you're not going to get too many yards.

Maybe he's just getting lots of guys experience at lots of positions, but Coach D needs to do a better job getting this O line to be better coordinated.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                  Let’s win one for Mack.

YES I DID. (also used the words "so far") We could have had any 6th round rookie RB get the level of production we've seen out of Gordon so far. Dude has not made anybody miss, and he hasn't broken any tackles.

Not disagreeing with you at all----certainly SD is an attractive destination for traveling fans. I was merely clarifying what I thought bonehead was trying to say.

Not entirely factual. He bounced off two guys deep in the backfield last night & made a nice positive run out of it. Given the opportunity to be an every-down back, I predict there will be many more of those.

It's a little of both. Woodhead had success with the same line and same D.
