Yeah, the cold start for the running back is lame. They always get cut down on their 2nd step or so before getting a full head of steam.

Also, maybe it's just me but Rivers seems to really telegraph that draw. You can see it coming a mile away.

The main cause for the negative yards is penatration and static start for the RB. The blocking has to be perfect or we lose 3+ yards.Go Rivers!Comment

That type of handoff is used way too often. It would be fine if it were several plays per game, but almost every run starts with that delayed handoff. Since it occurs at the same spot every play, the D seems to know what spot to reach to blow up the play. Defenses we play against are probably coached to have one or 2 defenders reach that spot about 2 or 3 seconds into each play. What happened to the good old off tackle or hb toss? I really liked the combo play Cam Cameron used to run with LT, where it was almost like an option, though it was predetermined. But you could either pitch outside to LT, or HB dive inside, and sometimes they'd run a reverse off of it. It kept defenses guessing.Comment
