Jaimes is under a cheap rookie deal for three more years. Maybe he’ll become something. And maybe he won’t. There’s no need to cut him unless you have a legitimately better option on the team. We finally have decent depth on the OL. Why would you want to mess with that?
Jaimes needs to start making himself useful when injuries happen and see the field as depth on the oline: and i don't mean blocking on field goals.
He doesn't need to start.

I expect Jaimes to be just that this year, filling in case of injuries and doing well in those moments, even if he’s not a starter.
That’s Zion’s position to lose. If Feiler goes out, is Jaimes up first or Salyer?
Good question. I think they like Jaimes as a development player. Salyer is beast, kinda ragged but it'll be interesting to see how quick he picks up on what Lombardi / Brendan Nugent are teaching, asking for.
If Jaimes doesn't see the field this year on offense, coaches will not depend on him next year going into the season.
If they don't depend on him next year going into the season, he'll have only moments in which to shine or they'll go in another direction.
He'll get very few reps in training camp with the starters in year 3 if they don't trust him....he'll be behind the 8 ball.
Quessenberry didn't do anything for 3 years; but because he played center he could get away with it.

It will be interesting to see Salyer at this next level and find out what we’ve got. It would be awesome if he is the misunderstood diamond in rough we hope he is. I’m not sure I saw on tape the athletic movement needed for a top level zone guard but maybe thats more just the role and assignments he got last year in UGa. Look forward to seeing our #1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 rd picks, actually.

I think they saw what they needed, then drafted two OGs.
