It's right to critique everything when we lose but cherry picking stats to try and make a point is pretty useless. After all, Bill Belichick has a 2-6 record in his last 8 games. Is he in over his head?

That's brutal. Very similar to McCoy and Lynn after some initial, limited success. Nosedive.

...Telesco has drafted and secured FA's much more successfully than he has picked coaches.

I simply don't get his inclination toward untested assistants/coordinators in their first HC gig.

Historically, Gillman, Coryell, Ross (NCAA Head Coach), Schottenheimer, and to an extent, Turner
were all NFL/NCAA HC's with a degree of success both prior and during their Charger tenure.

History doesn't always repeat itself, but apparently-the errors do...

don't think you can absolve Telesco here, as mentioned in another post, he has largely left this roster exposed and vulnerable to injury, and now he is getting hit by the injury bug from unexpected positions on top of the ones that already had (significant) injury risks/concerns to start with, and....

not sure he had a whole lot to do w/many if any of the coaching hires.... young John Spanos and the consultant that was in on the Telesco hire, were prolly much more instrumental in things.

Lynn and McCoy both made the playoffs with in their first two seasons with arguably lesser rosters. We will see how this season goes for Staley

early on did not have a good feeling 'bout this season and was thinkin' we might go something close to inverse of last season, something like 6-11.

then something seemed to click after TT signed Michel and Rodgers, and it seemed we had a complete roster, and something flipped for me, and was thinkin'/hopin' for 12-5.

and after yesterday.... dunno.... not overly optimistic, and w/the injuries, don't see .500 in our future.... (do hope to see Bijan in our future tho....)

                    Without Slater:
                    - we will not be able to run,
                    - we will not be able to protect Herbert in 14 games with Norton as LT.

Alongside Bosa, JC Jackson, Corey, Herbert injuries our season leads to failure.

The worst thing and we saw that yesterday is to put Herbert there as the co(ckro)aches will try to save their positions.

P.s. We need hard reset. No more Telescop and fire Staley and his gang before it will be too late and they gona break Herbert.

Don’t expect a hard reset. Telesco and the coaching staff are the types John boy can influence as he sees fit.

A well qualified GM and HC would want more autonomy from the organizational nepotism.

I agree but it's odd to me. Because I'm sure the Spanoses understand $$$ - and surely they must know that a consistent winner will do wonders for the value of their team, no?

I see it this way - protect wonderboy (this wonderboy can give them - Spanos - massive revenues in years to come).
That what Staley did yeaterday was an assault at Spanos money - if someboday hurt your bussiness without good explenantion FIRE THE I***T AS HE WILL DO IT AGAIN.
