THINK POSITIVE!!!
(And don't say, "I'm POSITIVE this season will be a failure...)
A strong negative thread, and the glass is half full types are starting to infiltrate and push their weight around.

He may have the information and know why the team isn't winning but knowing and addressing a problem are 2 different things.
BlazingBolt never looked more dashing. Love his all girl pirate mates here.
Is that Telesco or Staley walking the plank?....the boyish charm makes it tough to tell.

Patience people.
Bill Walsh won 8 games total his first 2 years with the 49ers. Then won a Super Bowl the next year.
Jimmy Johnson won 7 games total his first 2 years with the Cowboys. Then won a Super Bowl the next year.
Bill Belichick had a losing record 5 of his first 6 years as head coach in Cleveland and NE. Then won a Super Bowl the next year.
Sean Payton with the Saints went 7-9 and 8-8 his 2nd and 3rd years with the Saints. Then won a Super Bowl the next year.

Facts are it takes a few years to get a team built around a philosophy and have it perform well. Staley improved on the prior year and obviously focused on the offense. Year 2 is defensive focused….i think he deserves 3-4 years to build this team before really thinking about canning him and only if he looks awful like our last two HCs. I already am impressed with Staley….he is a great leader already and exhibits traits i think many teams will envy.
if we couldnt win it….Geno Smith to win it all!!

One thing that kind of bothers me about the ditch Staley and hire Sean Peyton line of thinking is that many successful HC who move on to be hired again don't enjoy the same success with the 2nd (or subsiquent) teams. It takes a lot of things to come together to make a successful franchise, and it is hard to replicate, even with someone who has done it before.
This is especially true of Peyton, since he had a lot of continuity in his staff during the time in NO, and he is not necessarily going to be able to just go out and hire the same people as before.

the team doesn't win the division
or
win at least 10 games, easily qualify for the playoffs and they win a game
winning the 17th game of the season to be the 7th seed is not going to cut it
This is the most depressing negative jinx-filled hate inspred loser failure thread in the history of TPB. I wish it would evaporate and never been seen or remembered again.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

If the Chargers beat the Raiders and Chiefs to start the season, that will be fantastic. But, remember last season the Chargers started 4-1 with early season defeats over the Chiefs and Raiders, but then ran into a buzz saw in at Baltimore and ended up going 5-7 the rest of the season. So even if the Chargers jump out to a 2-0 start and 2-0 in the division, with 5 of their next 6 being creampuff matchups, I probably won't start buying fully into the believing until after week 10 and they've won 8 games.
