Pipkins is an UFA after this year.

I know. We have some time before the trading deadline. "Listen" is the key, there is a right price for any player, including Slater.

Palmer has not filled KA's shoes like I was expecting. Either he's not ready or he's not going to be that guy.
not sure how so many peoples are zeroing in on a wideout for the next draft.... we have Keenan, MW, Palmer, Carter and Bandy, and that's given that Guyton is not resigned.

think our brass had WR in their sites last go 'round, but all the good ones were cleared off the board by the time we got to 17, and.... we prolly lucked out w/Zion.

from what I can tell, next year's draft is gonna be Bijan, or back to the lineman well.
5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams

Pipkins is improved, and.... chances are he's gonna get embarrassed more than once before season's end.

bottom line is that Slater is coming back, and that leaves Salyer for RT.... he is not a guard, and as I've said more than once.... it's not close between him and Pips.

we need to draft a center, and based upon our recent history, chances are our FO decides to upgrade Feiler @guard (in FA).

Uhh...if we traded Pipkins it would mean Norton would be back at RT. Hard, hard, pass.

Too early to predict where Salyer belongs and what to do with Pipkins but if they are both here next year, future Center should be a priority, IMO.

Edge, WR, TE, & ILB are also priorities.

Rumph, Palmer, Everett, Murray/Tranquil need to be upgraded.

Bet Salyer would be just as good at LG. Next year would be Slater, Salyer, Lindsey, Johnson, Pipkins. Nice.

Listen when - now or after the season?
The problem is he will be a FA at end of year. They either sign a new deal, tag him, or let him walk. I can see tagging as a possibility and then work out a deal that lowers that cap but gives him longer term security (guarantee). They would have to tag and trade, assume a new team would want to work out a deal with him before agreeing, or sign and trade.

all depends how he plays out the season, of course

All of those priorities on lines 2 and 3 will be a higher priority than the center of future. They are needed now - We have Linsley for a couple more years.

An elite WR or an elite RB is top need. Then Edge3, DT, ILB, TE in that order imo - just spitballing here

Chargers currently show as over the 2023 cap based upon 2023 contracts. And I don't think we have any Brian Bulaga type contracts to shed. So next year is going to be interesting and I am sure Herbert's agent is going to start seeking a new deal this offseason. Some guys are going to walk and some guys (not listed) who are under contract will get released....

                      Notable 2023 FA
Nas (I know right now no tears will be shed)
                      Pipkins
Carter? He is on a one year deal I think
                      Tillery (see Nas)
                      Van Noy, one year deal
                      JK Scott, one year deal
                      Tranquil
                      Parham
                      Fox, one year deal

There are others, like Norton and Reeder, Guyton, Stick but those above were the contributors

Salyer is doing exactly what he was doing on his college team, he's playing where he is needed and he is doing well... It looks like the top 2 picks of this draft could be Zion and Salyer!
