What key starters won’t be playing on OL? You really think Staley will present his ass to McVeigh and say have at it?

I would play the OL starters for much of the game. Depending on how Pipkin’s knee is, sit him if its sore. Coach can’t sit 22+ players, all starters can’t sit. KEY elite players only are considered here for preservation.

      Sit Eke.
Sit Slayer or reduce snaps by half
      Same with Dub
… Still thinking on Herbie …
      Sit Mack
Delay Joey’s return (sounds like thats a given anyway)
      Sit Derwin (may be required)

Other players -reduce their snaps and rotate in 2nd stringers more than normal.

I do not give one fuck about this macho McVey psy-op ego bullshit. McVey is 5-10, he already lost LA for 2022, “Winning” LA is not beat the lowly Rams in a gamer with zero meaning to either team - it is make a DEEP run in the playoffs to catch the eye of the narcissist local community .

it would be interesting to see the fan split in the Sofi - gonna be hard to make broad color-based assessments with both teams having near-same colors. Gonna give the edge to home team holding season ticket seats. Not like a massive wave of Ram fans are gonna fly in from Cerritos to see their 5-10 team

Shit, I might even think about sitting Staley after his comment that the Colts WR had anything to do with how James hit him. That's some weird shit.

audibles...YES. I wonder how much leeway they give Herbert to audible out of plays. I do hear "kill, kill, kill" a few times during the game.

seeding is at stake. just because we've clinched POs doesnt mean we cant get better seeding. There's still a lot of work to do on O. If there is a big lead or a big trail then sit your guys afterwards. but going into the POs with a long winning streak will feed the players' flames to keep it going.

I mean, I *am* cautiously optimistic. And I 'evolve' with the team. One game at a time.

They are a big part of the winning streak keeping the pocket clean for Herbert.
Salyer is okay as a backup OT. But his best fit is probably inside given the amount of hits and pressures he’s giving up at OT despite getting some chip help.

I point out that even KC didn’t do that and you go digging through the box score trying to find a stat to somehow rationalize a weak point.

Nobody thinks the O is a well oiled machine. I suspect Staley takes a long, hard look at Lombardi this offseason to see if he should be replaced or he thinks it is a personnel issue. The only thing I have ever objected to the Lombardi criticism is people failing to think that a QB with broken ribs, no speed at WR, a WR corp only in tact for a couple of games and an offensive line that is playing horrible won’t affect the execution of the offense. The offensive line is playing horrible, we don’t run effectively and our receivers get little quick separation so the play calling is limited. Staley has a long history with Lombardi so it will be interesting to see if he sticks with him or not.
Staley had a decent history with Swinton as well. And Swinton was actually trending up the last few games.

I continue to be baffled why some on here think the Chargers will be resting starters the last 2 games.

The 5th seed and a game againts the Jaguars instead of the Bills, Bengals, or Chiefs is at stake. The Ravens, without LJ, play the Steelers, and then next week the Bengals. if they lose one of those games and the Chargers win out, the Chargers take 5th.

There is also the matter of getting the starting offence perfoming well enough to play with the Bengals, Bills, and Chiefs in th playoffs. What the offence dispayed in the last 2 wins will not get it done.

Just watched Ryan Leaf on GMF. Talked about getting drafted. Going to Vegas and hanging out with his dad and friends. No mention of the locker room incident. Next draft will be 25 years. I read a few things over the years that he was getting his life back together. Just a waste of good talent IMO.

However, I’m glad it happened when it did, and not 5-10 years later. Biggest bust in NFL history? You decide.
