Should the Chargers Tank the Last 2 Games?

Play to win.
Lombardi needs to earn respect to secure a job next season with the Chargers or elsewhere so forfeiting the next two games won’t help that cause.
There’s a good chance we could lose the first wild card game so that would end the season with three losses in a row and destroy any goodwill the coaches had earned up until now.
So think about it from the coaches mindset. You want to forfeit 2 out of the next three and gamble your reputation on a possible one and done playoff game?
On the other hand….if you win the next two but it’s one and done in playoffs, it will look a lot better on the resume.

Like James - concussion - just rest him
Ekeler - limit carries or rest
The Chargers can still get the 5th seed -- that means TN or Jacksonville.

Tank is intentionally losing so no. I do look at protecting the most elite players from possible injury though. No way would I go balls to the wall to try to win these last two at all cost, a wise general must keep focus on the real prize.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

We’ll play for the 5th seed as long as it’s available. Staley isn’t going to want to lose to the Rams for sure. We’ll see where we are after this weekend and Monday night’s game. If it’s a difference between going to JaX or TN v going to Buffalo that will have an impact.

Chargers can also get to 10 wins with a win against hte Rams - that would be a big deal to me. Being 10-7 or 11-6 is a solid season altogether
I say keep playing but be smart with who you play and how many snaps you play them
