It's part of the job description. Anytime the ball is in an opponents hands behind the D front seven, guess who's up? DBs have to tackle RBs, TEs, WRs and QBs. Can't tackle? Next man up. DB is not about playing the ball in the air only.

I want to keep 9 OL
      and 3 QB
      and 4 TE
      and 4 RB/FB (5 with Dotson)
      and 6 WR.

Thats 26-27 players So Hightower, Dotson, the FB or an OL plus another guy isn’t making it. I think the FB is toast. Plus either Dotson or Hightower. Tough choices coming up to get down to 25. Who is a better STer, Dotson or Hightower?
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I think Dicker will be the kicker. The Chargers owe Hopkins $1.1m of salaruy - so maybe they can make a trade and another team takes on his salary. Like the cowboys - maybe their kickers will not shine

        Granted, I don't expect much from a Hopkins trade - maybe a 2025 7th for a 2024 6th or something like that

To start last season, Kellen Moore on his Dallas offense had:
          6 WR
          4 OT
          3 OG
          2 C
          3 TE
          2 QB
          3 RB

When Dak Prescott was injured and missed 5 games early in the season, the roster looked like this:
          5 WR
          3 OT
          3 OG
          1 C
          4 TE
          3 QB (including Dak)
          3 RB

Going into the playoffs in Jan, the offensive roster looked like this:
          7 WR
          4 OT
          2 OG
          1 C
          4 TE
3 QB (Dak was not injured)
          3 RB

I expect 25 offense on LAR but we'll see

Dont think that will happen. I dont mean Dotson, i mean 5 RBs. If Horvath is one of your picks, i dont see why we need him and he (FB) has no place in this offense. Possibly we keep 4 RBs.

I don't disagree, but think that if Horvath just plain isn't a system fit for Kellen Moore, they'd have released him by now.

If we've seen Tre McKitty's ceiling, then Horvath is far more useful to keep on the roster.

Dallas kept 3 RB for all of last season. Where does that leave Horvath and Dotson?

And I don’t see anyone here championing McKitty.

Still need camp guys so he can be cut with the first wave whenever that is. I mean you dont hear a thing about Horvath. Dont see how he is more useful than McKitty.

This year, its just a straight cut to 53, no required intermediate cuts. I think they will trim earlier to allow some the chance to catch onto another team... but even with the intermediate cuts, not many of those guys get picked up anyway. Some vested vets may request that if they know the writing is on the wall.

Isn't it a rule that QB3 doesn't count against the game day roster?

I think McKitty's toast. Either cut or PS.

Horvath's a core special teamer - I wonder if he can transition to TE4? There's not much future for him at FB.
