Run D should primarily be a function of the DL and LBs. If you're relying the CB to stop the run something is amiss. With that said ASJ's tackling needs improvement. At the same time Sir Taylor is a liability in pass coverage, in a passing league no less. Improve the front seven run D and start ASJ, most likely in the slot is the solution.

Yes. We were relying on the CBs to help stop the run.

Not good...that's like relying on a troop of Boy Scouts to stop a tank invasion...

Re: Asanta Jr vs Sr. Asante Sr. I hate to hate on Jr but he came out in an era where they didn't have all the combine prep camps like they do now. Jr was thought of as primarily a zone corner coming out of college. There were questions if he could hold up playing man. That was never a problem for Sr. even as a rookie he jumped out as a 4th round rookie for his coverage skills and ended up starting for Belichik which takes a lot to accomplish. Vato is a better man coverage corner than Samuel Jr & I don't think many here would question that his dad reminded me a lot of Vato but he'd also play for the Int.

There are a lot of plays designed to make the CB be the tackler. They must step up when the bad guys run those plays.

Yup. Would love to see that "step up" this season!

                    Nice start for our frogs.

                    DD Punt return TD
                    QJ TD

Duggan had a bit of a tough time.

Staley rested just about every starter except Zion and Salyer from what I could see. Samuel did not play, but JaSir Taylor did. So does that mean he is the starter?

Thats the better bet. If he hadn’t decided, I’d have thought he’d play him.

Alternate bet is he only played guys who havent played at all, havent played at their new position, or something like that?
