It's funny. McCarthy wants the offense to be more like what Lombardi did here -- shorter routes, ball control. Hopefully Moore will blossom not having McCarthy telling him to take his foot off the gas.

Come to think of it...was McCarthy a Payton tree hire when he went to GB or am I messing that up?

Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

McCarthy has an owner who loves his coach-killer of a starting QB. I can see why he would want him to throw less and run more controlled/safer pass plays.

Herbie is the opposite of Dak imo. Wicked smart with a laser rocket arm.

        In the last two years Lombardi's Chargers were #5 scoring O, 2021, #13 2022.
        Moore's Dallas O #1 in '21, #4 in '22.
We should be a top 5 scoring offense. If we are close to avg or better on D, we're in the playoffs again.
        -And win.

Culture is basically the opposite of whatever someone like Urban Meyer did in Jacksonville.

But yes, good culture can help lead to more winning.

'Can' is the operative word here. Staley can talk all he wants about the culture he's building - it doesn't mean much if it doesn't translate into wins. You also need good players, health and sound decisions from those in authority (coaching, GM, ownership).

Otherwise you just have happy losers.

It’s all different things that can help or diminish a team. Having a bad culture leads to a lockerroom that no longer cares, which ensures that a season will be lost. So building a good culture is one of the important steps. Finding ways to improve health will be key for 2023.

LOL! Happy Losers! Awesome concept. So you think "culture" is loserspeak for brainwashing.
Cool idea but in fact, it's just talk. Like Andy Reid's culture is winning SBs. BS! He's a great HC.
Brandon is a work in progress. Words are just words.
So far 9-8, 10-7 and a playoff loss. 11-6 and one or more playoff Ws and the word culture from his mouth starts to mean something.*

*and Bosa throws his tantrums in private.

Culture is what guys like Mack and KVN did last season by organizing dinners and meetings to hold the players accountable to each other. We happen to need that desperately because Staley’s words are empty. Picking up Bosa’s helmet is a culture killer. And Bosa himself is anti-culture because he’s all about himself.

What, you want a 17-0 season?

You guys are all correct in that 'culture' is important element in success, but it's by no means the only one - nor is it the most important. I would put health, quality coaching and players well above 'culture'.

I particularly disliked it when, after the Jville game, Staley referenced the team's improved 'culture' as an achievement, IMO in order to deflect attention from the team's failures on the field. Culture is part of the 'coach speak' vocabulary - and coach speak is something Staley does very well (it may be what he's best at).

Just win games and 'culture' takes care of itself - everyone wants to play for a winner.
