The perennially underrated Keenan Allen, whom Chase believes is the second-best receiver in the NFL behind Davante Adams.

And if that happens, it happens. The Chargers made decisions last year and the draft that lead to this.
Nobody made Telesco and Staley sign (or trade for)
      Extend Mike Williams
      Trade for mack
      Sign everett
      sign JC Jackson
      sign SJD
      Sign Austin Johnson

Draft players that don't play - or play that much like Stick, McKitty, JT Woods, draft Kelley and double up by drafting Spiller; trade Josh Palmer and he still needs a speedy WR

The Chargers could have spent less cash last year - -I get it. It was fun. I also saw the numbers.
The free agents that did the best were the three veteran minimum guys

was thinking 'bout that the other day.... FA is oft like the draft.... you hit on about 50 percent of your gets.

personally was expecting the likes of Callahan and Khalil to be the guys that went down, almost inevitably, and.... they didn't.

Bosa and JC Jack were the guys that did, and can't say Bosa was unexpected, and didn't really know much about Jackson's injury history.

also would've expected MW to be out w/an injury more likely than Keenan, and.... Keenan was the one down.

and then we lost Austin Johnson, but Bash came back.

sorta like the axiom.... you get what you want outta life, just not always the how and when you might have in mind.

things played out pretty much as expected, just not w/the who and the when we might have had in mind.

what really derailed the season, @least as best as I can surmise, is the (unexpected) injury to Herbert and losing Slater for the entire season, as recall that most any season that Philip had a talented enough LT, we usually did pretty darn well.

hopefully the both of Rashawn and Justin will be healthier this next go 'round, and that the win column will show the such.

PR was a beast. Anyone that says otherwise is clueless to football. He left it all on the field every game. He was slow, and unorthodox. But he was a helluva competitor. I will never take that away from him, he willed the Chargers through many games. It's sad that so many teammates let him down.

That said I wasn't very happy to see him replace Drew. I just liked DB, there was a fire there. Not to mention the best draft in Charger history. Getting 2 HOF'ers with the 1st and 2nd round picks. Just doesn't happen. I wasn't happy about breaking up that duo.

Rivers however. Came in and was solid from the get go.

Back on topic. Keenan needs to restructure. If he doesn't there's a strong chance he'll be gone IMO. A 10 year vet who's best days are behind him.

I think that is the only way he stays on the team. If he is released - his cap savings are 14.8 or something - but zero dead moving forward. So for him to stay, I would think his cap hit would need to be at least 12m - combined with nominal dollars (maybe $2.5m ish) tacked on next year.

It's a shame Telesco gave all our money to injury prone players. Bosa, Derwin, JC Jackson, MWill. Great job.

Not sure he's a bargain but if not for the cap situation nobody should be complaining. Outright releasing him would be a bad move. At least
try a trade if we're so intent on offloading him.

I'm sure the team has a plan but I just think that Keenan isn't going anywhere. They will find the cap space.

I know I've said trade Bosa but reality is id be surprised if that happens. But I think they look into it as a possibility and decide against it.
They have to look into all possibilities.
Who knows , maybe a team calls and asks about his availability and knocks their socks off with an offer.forneitjer of Joey or Mack , idk.

Teams inquire when they know you have cap issues.
