His position group seemed to be improving the most out of all the defense. I think he will be a step up from Hill. Hope both cordinators will be half as good as Ficken. That dude changed the trajectory of that whole unit

I watched his video too. He's a better motivator than Hill is.

We just have to let Ansley express himself on the field.

Still love this promotion - it is going to pay dividends out the wazoo in 2023. Hill was not up for the job, he shrank to a role as sidekick lackey. Ansley will lead men into the pits of hell and emerge victorious.

So you’re saying we’ll beat the raiders?

I hope to share your enthusiasm in the near future but as long as staley is the coach he's the defacto DC...which he should NOT be.

That's just talk. No doubt the D is a Staley design but who (Staley / Ainsley) does what during games isn't clear. There will probably be an evolutionary process between them as Staley learns to trust Ainsley's instincts.

I think Staley calls defensive plays in 2023, and after that, Ainsley takes over play calling duties...that is IF Staley and his staff are retained after 2023, which I think he/they will be. Truth is, even if the D is bad yet again, I think Kellen Moore masks the D deficiencies with a potent offense and Chargers make the playoffs yet again.

A better offensive plan is an asset. TDs, points on the scoreboard impacts how opponents have to play, which we are built to defend. Improving from 30th to at least average at run offense will be huge.

Everybody wants to put 35 points in each game
Everybody likes to have 400 passing yards
If you're not able to stop the run on defense, it means nothing

Wrong. Stop the chunk plays and they can't keep up if our O is scoring TDs with a R/P mix.
                          - Not that I believe #28 run D is OK. It isn't. Average or better is.
Pass D and takeaways are the big ones.
Yards are kinda abstract. They depend on where and when. TDs are basic facts.
We were #3 in pass yds, #13 in scoring. I'd rather have points.
I'd like us to score 28+ ppg on avg allow 20 or less average.
