If not Richard Marshall we will need another CB, maybe the last cuts we get someone. Looking at the current roster for CB's on NFL.com it doesn't look good at all. I am not sure on Johnny Patrick, he was getting toasted in New Orleans, and I really haven't seen much from him in the pre-season.

RCB Shareece Wright, Johnny Patrick, Marcus Cromartie(R), Josh Johnson(R), Cornelius Brown

LCB Derek Cox, Steve Williams(R)-IR, Greg Gatson, William Middleton, Greg Brown(R)

CB Richard Marshall has agreed to terms with the Chargers on a one-year deal, per league source.

Glad to see they were able to secure him. I expect to see between 3-5 more new players brought in between now and week 2.
          1) Jason Verrett (CB) TCU
          2) Demarcus Lawrence (OLB) Boise St
          3) Will Sutton (DT) Arizona St
          4) Jarvis Landry (WR) LSU
          5) John Urschel (OC) Penn St
          6) Shamar Stephen (DT) UConn
          7) Brock Coyle (ILB) Montana

hopefully one of them being one of those seahawks running backs. i would seriously trade a 4th round pick for turbin.

Chargers should have drafted Joekel instead of signing Marshall.

Just getting us ready for the inevitable onslaught.

This is a pretty good little signing here. I like it.

I guess Milus must be a good enough DB coach. Marshall would not have signed if he sucked as bad as Broncos say.

I think its funny how bronco fans are blaming their DB coach for that choke job.

Williams is out, and I expect Gilchrist to play CB- not S. Taylor is playing this Saturday and may not be that far away and they can use Stuckey at SS until Taylor takes over. Couple promising young S can back up. Maybe not the best Secondary in the NFL but not the worst either.

With the depth we have, I wouldn't be surprised if we weren't signing some guys for the first 6 weeks or so. Remember, so solid but unproven guys get cut the first few weeks when teams have to shuffle their rosters to deal with injuries. And a few useful vets too. It may disrupt the team a bit, but I can see us shuffling guys around, trying to get the best guy. In truth, we have done that every year for as long as I can remember. It's just some times, we had a deep enough roster that we didn't need to do that.

Just as a reminder about the kinds of players you can get that way, John Parella got signed the year we went to the SB a few weeks into the year, after being cut in preseason by Buffalo. A couple of years later, we signed Norman Hand, who was so fat he could only play about 3 plays in a row. Both of them turned out to be excellent signings, and they only cost us salary to get them as 3rd DT types.
