I've watched a lot of great pass rushers over my 45 years of being a charger fan, the great ones are always going to keep working and never give up on a play, it's one of the things that separates them from the rest, Tuli is relentless like that and that's a good thing, hustle is not a knock, you and I aren't seeing the games the same way, I see Tuli is creating for the other players on both run and pass plays, his quick penetrations are getting other people better matchups, tackles, and sacks...Tuli is up there now, he is literally one of the most important players on our defense, he's become indispensable, he's one of those players that if he misses time the defense is going to be different and not in a good way...it's absurd that he's doing all of this and still playing on STs...
I certainly didn't make the take up, I've read as much here on TPB, and I agree that style points points don't matter when you're producing.
Personally, I've been advocating for us in the draft to emphasize big edges that win like Tuli, over the flashy juice prospects, so Tuli is my prototype for what I prefer for the position.
I wasn't being critical, I love hustle sacks and pressures.
Tuli generally wins with motor, speed to power and growing technique.
The distinction I'm making is against the elite speed athletes that beat tackles off the edge regularly for their sacks like a Von Miller or prime Melvin Ingram even.
There are different ways to produce as a edge.
Much of Tulis production comes off second efforts, look no further than vs KC. There is chemistry between he, Mack and Oweh and they are playing like a unit which is more important than having 1 stud to depend on...

It doesn’t matter who came up with that take or how many people cut and paste it on their posts…

the key here is to make our own judgements based on what we see the players doing…

I don’t understand why so many folks out in the world are interested in having bad takes about Chargers players and we know most of it is bull shit that just gets repeated by the talking heads…

funny you mention Crosby because he also didn’t fit the mold and it took him years to earn the respect he gets now…maybe Tuli is on a similar path and it’s just going to take a while for people to realize what a special player he is…

Tuli’s combine 40 time was 4.97 and his 10 yard split wasn’t recorded.

Oweh, by comparison ran a 4.36 at Penn State pro day.

Probably why Oweh was a 1st and Tuli a 2nd rounder, yet Tuli has outperformed Oweh in the NFL.

So you make judgements based on observation but I don't? What are you accusing me of now? First it was of passing off "my bias" to others. Now it doesn't matter?
I told you want I see, tell me where I'm wrong.
Tuli does NOT possess elite get off juice, that's not how he wins, it's okay to recognize that, it's an objective take.
            You're rants are bordering incoherancy,
Sop being to emotionally reactive and try engaging with any actual points I've made.
or not and keep playing gatekeeper of how to be a Chargers fan, whatever.
Okay, so you came up with those observations on your own, my bad, didn't mean to lump you in with the crowd, but you also didn't hesitate to add in your post that you're not alone in thinking that. So your not following the herd and you just happen to believe the same thing everyone else is repeating almost word for word, understood... It's fine to agree to disagree and I don't know anything about gate keeping you mention, I just don't agree with the accepted narrative on Tuli...not sure how me saying that a Charger player is better than what people are saying is a bad thing but okay, I guess I'm in the wrong here...

The good news is we won't have to wait long to see how Hortiz and Harbuagh view Tuli's worth to the team, the answer is coming sooner than later...

In regards to the overly repeated narrative "Tuli not the guy offenses need to plan for" I think it's great that we have so many posters with connections to the NFL, posters that have friends in high places in offensive coordinator jobs all around the league, it's fantastic our forum has that type of reach because I don't imagine anyone would just pull something like that out of their asses...

other back handed compliments from our own forum members are as follows...

Tuli's number are a product of coverage sacks...

Tuli just hustles, his plays only happen because he tries hard...

Tuli benefits from having Mack and Oweh playing next to him...

I always think of Terrell Suggs when I think of comps for Tuli. Neither was an elite get off or bend guy, but they were relentless pass rushers in college who knew how to and did get the QB. Both very good against the run. Neither were elite physical specimens. But really good players
Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.
