I don’t even know if he’s called a MLB, an ILB or an OBLB. The position is in such flux these days nobody know what to do with it. But I bet Staley does.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I thought I'd be upset with defensive picks for rounds 2 AND 3
but I love both these guys, I'm on board.
this D is going to be elite when all cylinders hit.
      Gimmie Bower Power!!

Not on my radar at all, but like with the first two picks, talent+ as a future starter. Likely will start sooner than the other two..

It really is. My son is getting ready to start his college career as a MLB. He had 315 tackles, but I told him that he really needed to concentrate on his cover skills at the next level, because the days of the thumper is quickly dieing. 10 years from now they're going to call that position Middle Safety and Outside Safety.

I don’t want to hate on any of our players but Murray’s play has really hurt the team. He was the biggest weak link, so if Henley can play ball that will help the defense significantly.

It will be interesting to see if Daiyan Henley turns out to be a better pro LB than Dorian Williams who was drafted a few spots after by the Bills mafia??

4/24/23: In 2022, Henley recorded 106 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles, a pass broken up and an interception. He is a tough defender with speed and playmaking ability. Henley looks like a future three-down starter. At the Senior Bowl, Henley helped himself with a strong week of practice. He flew fast to the ball and showed the speed and athleticism to cover.

                    Solid pick.

Is it too soon to say move him to safety?

I saw him rated 3rd several times, ahead of Simpson. Ranks i saw were Sanders, Campbell (or reversed), then Henley … and on. Most ranks I saw had Simpson below Henley. Obviously the professional evaluators across all 32 teams saw things in Sanders to push him way down. Campbell went R1.

he’s going to be good. He’ll need to learn to operate in zone coverage, that was a weakness. Topcat called it - he can play spy when needed a la Mahomes or others.
