Been watching this kid a lot lately...he flies to the ball, is a very good tackler, though he needs to be a wee bit more consistent...and looks like he could be a helluva blitzer...I am very excited about this kid...and only 2 years as a LB...if he has the brains and discipline to get this defense down quickly, Murray better watch out.
    Adopted Bolt: Kimani Vidal RB

Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB,Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

I bounced back and forth between Henley and Overshown.
Henly was better vs. the run IMO.
Very good at read/react... which both Tranquill and K9 suck at.
I think Henley is a very good fit for Staley's defense.
I was doing the same. I also liked Overshown. And despite Herbig being an edge guy....i liked what he could do in space and taking on blockers and often wondered if he could have a roll inside. But i really think at LB Henley might have been one of the best sure tackling prospects in the draft. Once he gets gets his hands on you its over. Just needs to polish up those over pursuits and misses. He gets s close. But never gives up. Always around the ball.

Henley improves STs day one and is in a great room with Kendricks. One of the components to improving run D.Could be a star in year 2-3.

From what I heard, they (the chargers) were split between Simpson & Henley.
Staley wanted Henley, so Telesco went along with it.

The Lightning Round podcast reported that Simpson was their number 1 LB but obviously gone by the third.
they had Campbell and Sanders about equal but saw Sanders more as an edge and we had already drafted Tuli by then.
            FWIW.

            Edit:
Garrett, Jamie & Craig break down the Chargers 2023 draft class.

This is the specific episode I'm referring to. I haven't finished listen but if this info is accurate, there are more nuggests, essentially suggesting that Q and Tuli were "Telesco's guys" and Staley coveted Flowers....

            Unsettling if true.

              We drafted who we drafted.
My take is that Staley and Telesco are both on board with our choices.

Simpson was taken the pick after Henley?

Simpson was taken the next pick after Henley.

They had their choice of the two.

I really think the fact he is a converted WR makes him the better coverage guy. PFF had him ranked higher than Simpson because of it. One of the better coverage backs in the draft is the chatter. LBs these days have to be able to cover. Just give me a LB that doesn't miss a ton of tackles (he missed 5 out of 100 last season? and doesnt turn his back to QBs in coverage and while they are moving outside a pocket. My guess is Staley prefers linebackers with good to great coverage skills. Its not like he was also surrounded by blue chips like so many guys these days. I like players that emerge on teams without a lot of talent around them. Makes their job more difficult. Kind of why i tend to be shy with D players coming from stacked rosters. Like Georgia and Bama. Obviously those teams have great players...but you always wonder how much better they are on those teams with all the other guys demanding attention.

If it’s the BEST player on a stacked roster, thats one thing - I’m more worried about the 2nd and 3rd best guy on a stacked unit. A couple of the recent Defensive guys benefitted from a superior teammate attracting added attention, imo.

kind of like how AL LTs (almost) always suck in the pros maybe?
