Jaylon Smith-Do you burn a mid-round pick if he is there?

The injury is bad, that much is clear. He was probably a top 5 pick before the knee. I wouldn't touch him in rounds 1-3 but if he falls outside of there would the Bolts be tempted. The guy may never play a down in the NFL or he could redshirt his rookie year and be a perennial pro bowler. A lot of folks are advocating Myles Jack at 3, well this guy was an equal or better prospect before the knee. Who would take a flier on?

I would in the fourth or later as long as we had another pick in that round. So far that is only the sixth round, which if he was there I would absolutely take a flier on him there. If we are able to trade down and get an extra pick in the fourth or later I would jump on it then too.

Id consider jumping up in late 3rd if it just looks like a 1 year recovery thing. It would certainly be a good deal to get 2 top 5 talents in the same draft. Pre injury he was a beast. I'm still seeing mocks that have him mid to late first. I think after the injury re-check and the consensus being he won't be ready til 2017, he will drop out of 1 and 2

I can imagine a team like the Titans with three second rounders picking him up.....they would still have 2 second round and 2 third round picks
Forget it Donny you're out of your element

Just don't trade the 4th this year.

I think there are a lot of good players in the middle/late 1st round through about the beggining of the 4th. Hard to take Jaylon in there with so many good players without the medical risk.

Our picks this year are so high that they are really 1 round higher, so our 2nd rounder is more like a late 1st rounder.

So I'm chocking on using a 3rd rounder or even 4th on him, but after that I'm good ... Problem is he goes in the 3rd round ... Because someone will take a flyer if who they wanted / targeted isn't there ...

So you take him over a tight end or safety? Not me. I think he'll go by end of 2nd.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

If you can get him in 4th-6th round for sure. Otherwise to much of a risk. He's a heck of a player if healthy.

San Fransisco is another team that might take him since they have a lot of picks in this draft and they have been known in the past to draft players with medical issues and "redshirt" them for a year until they are healthy.

He has nerve damage, I would not draft him until the 6th round...
