I’m counting 4, not 5. Horvath is out. F21 is not an innovator, but I’m on board. 2 TDs to the house and he made it look easy, cmon! DOT PATROL!

Not only that but his college tape has so far translated to the NFL level. Potentially Sammy small school steal again? If he pans out it totally makes up for not drafting a RB in my book.

Here's what I have an issue with. You post garbage like "big and slow" should have just kept Roundtree.

        Roundtree ran a 4.7
        Horvath ran a 4.5
        Ekeler ran a 4.4
        Kelley Ran a 4.5

Give Horvath just a little slack you can ONLY do something when your number is called.

Also, he has some solid blocks against the Rams, I rewatched the game specifically to see how he did. He didn't blow anyone out of the hole but he did seal his blocks in the hole a couple of times. He's like a faster version of Alstott.

Just for giggles this is why the Chargers drafted him in the 7th.
You are correct, Horvath's 40 is better than I remember, 4.57 official vs rountree around 4.7, I was wrong...Dotson clocked in at 4.53 at his pro day...Forty times aside, do you think that Horvath can do what we saw Dotson do the other day? I've not seen that type of explosion from Horvath, if he had that type of twitch I think they would've already given him more work carrying the ball in regular situations not just short yardage...this could be a case where one guy got proper top of the line training before the combine and another kid that didn't even get an invite to the combine and probably prepared for his pro day on his own ran a shitty forty...Horvath plays slower than his forty and Dotson plays faster than his forty, that much seems pretty obvious to me just watching the games...

as for Horvath's disappearance from the offense some of that happened because he was banged up shortly after the start of the season which affected his involvement going forward the rest of the year...I don't remember now exactly what it was but if I heard it was an ankle issue and then later in the year again he missed time with a high ankle sprain or something like that...it sure seemed like Lombardi was going to feature him in the offense up until he got hit with the injury bug early in the season...

4.5 40 by a fullback.... Dotson is a running back. That's kind of my point. Our FB is running as fast as our RB's. That is pretty unique. 2 different positions obviously. If we keep him I am sure Moore will have some wrinkles to thrown in for Horvath. I don't mind carrying a FB. I like how big he is. He should be used in short yardage.

He should be on a program to have him bulk up even more. He can play that is proven by the video. Just give him a chance by calling his number a couple of times a game.

I can't bash him like you. There isn't enough tape out there. He hasn't been utilized enough to pass judgement IMO.

Ive never seen him run as fast as Dotson, Spiller or Kelley in real life. I’m all for calling his number a bunch of times in PS to find out one way or the other. Maybe he has back-end time but he doesn’t have the accelerating burst that is critical to succeed in NFL as a RB. Jmo, I’d love to see him get some legit shots to show us, i just doubt he will even get the chances.

Popper said Horvath is a keeper because he can play multiple positions like special teams, etc. He was also in multiple running plays as a leading blocker under Moore. Let’s see if he makes the cut.

If some TE or center gets cut in late TC... those guys get up graded.
Foster Sarrell is a worry for me.
The Bengals have Orlando Brown Jr., Jonah Williams, La'El Collins, Hakeem Adeniji, Jackson Carmen, D'Ante Smith, and Cody Ford at tackle in camp. All competing for 3 or 4 spots.
There u go...cut Horvath and plug in McKitty in those few situations a FB is needed...problem solved!
                22 - TE Mason Taylor
                55 - RB Quinshon Judkins
                86 - DL Josiah Stewart
                125 - G Dylan Fairchild
                158 - C Jake Majors
                181 - WR Donte Thornton

Multiple positions like ST's and FB? Hardly use him at FB, so not much of a ROI there...can't we coach up some of the young bucks to play ST's? Haven't they played ST's before?

Lead blocker who can also catch TDs? AND plays ST?

Yeah, keep him and Dotson both. McKitty, not so much.

I hope they show McKitty the door, I was probably one of the few people on here that liked the pick when we drafted him but I got no problem admitting that I got McKitty wrong, he has been a huge disappointment and he's shown almost nothing, he had an awful game against the Rams last Saturday...

Kampfmoyer was a lot more impressive in the few reps that he got, right now, I think Kampfmoyer is the one to keep between him and McKitty...Parham was really good against the Rams too...especially run blocking but also had two 3rd down pickups on on 3rd and 3 and one on 3rd and 7, Smart I didn't see him do much, but I think Kampfmoyer is ready to step up, his blocking looks improved and he ran a smart clean route on his reception and maximized the end of the play in terms of yardage after the catch...

IMO, Mckitty has done even less to justify his roster spot than Horvath, if I was keeping the 4 RBs and the 4 TEs, I would go with Dotson over Horvath and then Kampfmoyer over McKitty

ekeler, kelley, spiller, and dotson then everett, parham, kampfmoyer, and smart...although I'm not sure if they are as high on smart as they were last year, maybe horvath over smart could be a possibility as well so...

RB ekeler, kelley, spiller, and dotson
                        FB horvath
                        TE everett, parham, and kampfmoyer

I think the chargers need to make a couple of moves before the regular season starts and maybe even another 1 or 2 after week 1 of the season...OT depth needs to be upgraded, TE depth needs to be upgraded, and S depth needs to be upgraded too, Webb is garbage, he's nicked up again this summer and he can't tackle to save his life watch the rams game he continues to take bad angles and whiff on tackles...now that Gillman is banged up going into the season with just James, woods, and Layne being healthy just seems like a bad idea...I'm not sure about the rookie undrafted safeties, how have they looked to you guys?

I'd rather they did exactly that, cut McKitty and keep Horvath as long as it also means both Dotson and Kampfmoyer make the cut...
