I’ve read they had their sights set on QJ from the time he was a freshman at TCU. They couldn’t see past that on draft day. I suspect little John had something to do with it, but I don’t know for sure.
3 players from the same school that got annihilated by Georgia last year.
If that's the case, why isn't he the one covering George Kittle, who has three receptions for 91 yards in just one quarter?
This isn't a "hot take"
Kittle is elite and will get his numbers in that offense regardless of how good any safety is.
Hamilton is a great safety and outplaying Derwin right now.
now give Derwin the same offense and role and I'm sure he can do the same, but no point in hating on Hamilton.

What about Derwin vs. Kelce?
Kelce had one or two big moments last year and people forgot how his production traditionally went down the toilet when playing against Derwin.
Which year was it where he couldn't do anything (something like 13 total yards), but went wild in the 4rth once Derwin left the game with an injury?
If Kittle had 90 yards by halftime against the Chargers, the outrage towards Derwin would be like a flash of blinding white light.
Hell, I'll say it right now .... Hamilton is grossly overrated.

Velo is only pointing out what Hamiltion's done tonight to put Derwin James down. You're overlooking that because Derwin is not one of your guys.
Brock Purdy has been in the MVP discussion for weeks. He had a 119 rating heading into this game. A seventh-round pick has technically outplayed our $262 million quarterback substantially this season, as Herbert has a 93.2 rating and has never entered the MVP discussion. I'm sure you and Velo would never point any of this out if Purdy had four touchdown passes in a blowout victory tonight.
