Two elevations from the practice squad for the game:

      Why a safety?

So, of the four players who were listed as doubtful yesterday, three are now out. Only Henley remains "doubtful," and Bosa stays "questionable."

        I highly doubt that . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I was going to look this up because I could have sworn we did a lot better as recently as last season.

It's a tired, old narrative. Just like our ST sucking or our running game sucking.

Next stop: average defense, follwed by elite defense.

          Be the change....

Might as well. We got nothing out of him against Miami (except penalties) - I don't expect him to play BETTER nicked up . . . . . . . . . Fleet is right - Bosa's soft like Charmin, physically and mentally.

              Speculation from Guilty as Charged:

I assume the decision to elevate Dean Marlowe means part of the plan is for Derwin James to be around the LOS in more of a LB type role instead of S.

You would think that his younger brother totally overshadowing him in the NFL would serve as a motivator. But apparently not.

Who knows what motivates Joey? Money (maybe) - certainly not pride.

Remember those puff pieces over the summer; Bosa's working out with the team this year / we're going to see a different Bosa / he's bulked up to power thru OT's, yada yada yada? Looks like he's mailed it in . . . . . . . . . . .

Should have traded him last year we could have got something for him. So sad. On a positive note, our offense should have enough firepower to get us a win even with this sub-par defense.

Makes sense to keep DJ in the box..... its his best most effective place to play him.... he can help stuff run, blitz QB's..... but James is not great in coverage..... too big and slow for that unless in short areas near LOS....+/- 5 yards.... but he is explosive in the box.... and QB's are afraid of him blitzing, so they will get rid of ball quickly...

And without Henley and Kendricks we have zero NFL quality LBers..... just a few ST guys.....
